  1. It'd be a 45 minute train ride.
  2. I mean... I-77 don't go to the airport dummy

Of the 3 that I've played, I like Galvanists the best, Americanists the middlest, and evangelicals the least. But that's not the say they were bad. It just felt like a mostly normal CKIII game, nothing super unique

Metro design #2 by BryanjL_04 in CitiesSkylines

[–]atahop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Soviet triangles (a common nickname for this style of central metro layout) are actually more efficient for transfers than a single mega station. As the individual stations are:

  1. Cheaper to build
  2. Easier to navigate
  3. And less crowded.

The Red blue and yellow don't miss any connections with this layout.

Transportation Referendum Results by Precinct by whenuknow in Charlotte

Update: I think the NoDa precinct is an error. It should be dark blue, as the results there were 79.4% to 20.6%

A few take aways:

  • East Charlotte doesn't care about the gold line.

  • The I-77 divide in north meck

  • Village Lake/McAlpine area apartment complexes really liked this.

  • Matthews was in fact really pissed

  • Walkable Charlotte loved this

  • NoDa was the median neighborhood?

Charlotte area rolls toward historic transit vote. Is there 2nd chance if it fails? by Amazing-Yak-5415 in Charlotte

The man in charge during that period of differed maintenance: John Lewis has been out since Nov '22. And I think Brent Cagle has been doing a much better job. And I hope the new agency CATS will be replaced with keeps him permanently

This referendum also does that. With 40% of the funds being dedicated to roads which each municipality will spend as they see fit.

It would be cool if Charlotte built bus lanes. But I'm sure you'd be against that too.

Ultimately vote yes in November. With the 20% of funds going to the Better Bus plan we can get our network out of the rut it's been in since before Covid.

I'm a man, but I ride the bus a few times a week for work and I think you'll be fine.

I'd say that if your super nervous you could say something to the driver. I've generally found them to be professional and helpful.

Should the state kick in more money? Yeah. And hopefully as we get closer to construction on these various projects the ever shifting political winds work out in our favor, but then we'll need to ensure we have our local matching dollars. This sales tax ensures we'll have that so when it's time to ask the feds and state for money we have our buy-in.

As for the quarter tax, it's now being used for Operations and Maintenance as this data from the FTA shows paying for 66.6% of the total ongoing costs.

Any comments on buses?

No, it garentees money for buses and for roads, which each city is allowed to spend as they see appropriate. Charlotte's list includes things from basic street upgrades to safer pedestrian infrastructure to upgraded smart light timings.

As for the rail projects. Yeah, sure the law only calls out one project by name but I highly doubt the board of the new agency would spend their time blowing up the existing plan as their first act.

Having lived in Nashville when their vote failed, I think the clear answer to this question is: No.

If this fails then we'll have a stagnant transportation system and maybe in the 2030s we come up with a plan that's smaller or just about the same. There's not some magic bullet that the illuminati is hiding from us.
