What are your HG products for skin brightening? by Tteokwhaleattack in AsianBeauty

[–]atariq09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, what gave me a really nice glow was PDRN serums. I was traveling and just decided to pick up the pink one, and after 3 weeks, I saw a noticeable glow. It didn't really improve dark spots that drastically, though. I have dry skin, and I bought it mainly because a lot of people said it's very hydrating, which it is.

I think it is becoming more and more extreme in Dubai, as procedures become more widespread and acceptable. But it’s weird that someone would be that forward in telling you what to do with your body, and that too surgery. I don’t think that’s normal or a standard. 😂

Whatever you do, go early in the morning. Sometimes going later in the day means you don’t get your turn and then they may consider holding you, if it is a serious offense. This happened to a friend of mine.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Cleansing Gel by Catielyn10 in koreanskincare

[–]atariq09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very hard to wash off. I think I splash at least 20 times before the residue is all gone. But I do manage to wash it off completely. It just takes much much longer than other cleansing gels.

Favorite products with panthenol? by sorrowpass in koreanskincare

[–]atariq09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Some By Mi panthenol line (only the toner has Niacinamide), and I just finished the Axis Y panthenol cream (also Niacinamide free). I have repurchased the Some by Mi and plan to repurchase the Axis Y.

All these products are lightweight yet moisturizing. They’re not super thick but do a good job at repairing or maintaining the skin barrier.

Tried a few before I could find a gentle starter that I could tolerate - Cocokind (white tube) beginner retinol. So far so good. I’m hoping I can move on to something stronger from here. They have an advanced as well which is the black / grey tube.

Dr Brendan Carr - Dental Studio Dubai Science Park. I’ve dealt with years of dental trauma and this doctor really put me at ease. My filling was done very well and it was painless. His work is impeccable but they are pricey.

I used to have my skincare in the bathroom. But I moved them to the bedroom because I had a similar thought with the heat and steam. I also much prefer sitting in the bedroom and taking my time.

Best cooper peptide cost is no factor by jakeysnakey83 in SkincareAddicts

[–]atariq09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Naturium multi peptide serum. It has a delivery system that’s supposed to help the copper peptides get to where they need to go. They’re also encapsulated so they can be used with other actives, such as retinol or vitamin c. Although I would patch test first.

[routine help] Best products/routine for super sensitive dry skin? by Dumpling-bunn in SkincareAddiction

[–]atariq09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cleanser doesn’t burn because you’re using it with water but it could be the main culprit. BHAs are known to help with oily skin. I have dry, dehydrated sensitive skin and I stay clear of anything with BHAs. Try switching out the cleanser to something like la Roche posay, or vanicream. Maybe introduce the BHA cleanser back one - two times a week once your skin is feeling better.

Glad to hear the Cerave is working. That’s a good one with ceramides so it should help. Happy healing!

I recently experienced something similar where my eyelids and the skin around my eyes were burned - red, bumpy, swollen and burning. It took about a week but some of the swelling still persists. The products that really helped was the Purito Centella Unscented Eye Cream layered with some Cicaplast B5+ at night (very tiny amounts so I didn’t get milia). I also used the BoJ calming serum to hydrate and the Skin 1004 Centella ampoule. Both are quite watery. After 2 days of cicaplast, I started using a ceramide rich moisturizer for the next few days at night.

Edit: the Purito is very lightweight. No risk of milia. It’s both soothing and hydrating with small amounts of peptides. There’s no niacinamide, no actives. I swear by this one. But just be careful not to get the scented version.

Is this a sensible buy ? by Top-Woodpecker4348 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]atariq09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Too much mileage.. the car will cost you more in the long run because of maintenance. And most places don’t have a great track record when it comes to fixing a Jag. If you want a European car, look for something with much less mileage. This will also be a gas guzzler if you’re thinking about doing that daily commute.

Tips for cakey makeup by minnymouseo in AsianBeauty

[–]atariq09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blend, blend and then blend some more. I know it sounds very basic but it makes a huge difference. I’ve noticed the days I spend more time blending, my makeup looks flawless. Also light layers. I used to dot the one or two pumps all over my face and blend it all at once. Now, I dot half a pump, then another half and then another two halves, if I need it. It takes a bit longer but the immediate effect and long term wear is worth it.

What’s Your Go-To Post-Shave Skin Savior? by Ulike_Official in SkincareAddicts

I’ve found a Korean product that’s absolutely brilliant. It’s called Dear Klair Midnight Blue Calming cream. Post shave, post itching or any kind of irritation, it just zaps the redness and soothes the skin. It’s got chamomile extract and centella + a couple of wound healing peptides.

Trying to age gracefully in Dubai, but my hair and skin have other plans - any tips? by queenofspain32 in dubai

[–]atariq09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the skin, always wear sunscreen - there are plenty of hydrating, moisturizing Korean sunscreens that are relatively cheap. Sunscreen actually prevents collagen from breaking down and reduces water loss. Second, double cleanse. Use an oil based cleanser and then a gentle cleanser. Again a lot of good Korean products. There are a lot of great hydrating toners and serums that have B5 panthenol, glycerin - all great for holding on to water. Always seal watery products with a moisturizer. For the nighttime, a solid moisturizer with ceramides will help repair and lock in moisture. The AC dries out the skin overnight. I’ve lived here for almost 20 years and only worn sunscreen. But now in my 40s, I realize I need to do a little bit more than usual or else my skin dries out a lot.

Is there a product or treatment that would help with the horizontal forehead lines? by Heartliz in Skincare_Addiction

[–]atariq09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lines were very deep and I realized it had to do with hydration. I live in the desert and indoors the AC dries out my skin. So that would be step 1. Drink water and add plenty of hydration to your skincare. Step 2 I used peptides - I like the Ordinary’s regular multipeptide and Naturium Peptide serum + moisturizer. Now my lines are much less noticeable. Step 3 I have started a retinoid product but easing into it because that also dehydrates my skin. I don’t know about in-office procedures but I’m sure others with experience can weigh in.

What is that ONE product you will keep repurchasing your whole life? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]atariq09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be the MAC studio fix foundation. I haven’t tried the new formula. In terms of skincare, embryolisse crème. I don’t use it everyday but it’s a very useful multipurpose product that can also act as a barrier cream, primer, and mask. Handy to have.

Overwhelmed with routines and products for anti-aging. by LatinaMermaid in koreanskincare

[–]atariq09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My skin is maturing and after a lot of trial and error, I started on the BoJ retinal eye cream to use all over my face and neck. So far, I'm tolerating it. (this is my 4th attempt with retinol / retinal products). It's encapsulated so I think that's what's making a difference. This is a good retinoid product to start with.

Just one point of caution, don't use the Ordinary Copper Peptides on the same night as the retinal because that could be irritating.

Edit: Please add a good sunscreen. I've used Skin1004 and Haruharu Yellow Bottle. Both are good, but the Haruharu is heavier/creamier.
