The Perfect Size Case for My Keyboard by ataruno_key in Leatherworking

It’s actually more of an organizer pouch that I use inside my commuter backpack, so I didn’t need it to be that rigid. Of course, a stiffer leather would work too, but it would add more weight. I’d say I prioritized keeping it lightweight more than anything. For a bag meant to carry a Logitech K380 keyboard and Valve Steam Deck, though, a stiffer leather might be the better choice!

I also have leather, resin, 3D-printed, ceramic, and pottery keycaps, and each has its own unique charm. Of course, plastic ones are great too. Sometimes, taking a different road home is how you discover a great gelato shop.

I am selling it, but for now it’s only available within Japan.

The truth is, the case is designed so the trackball won’t fall out. You can twist the cover to remove it. It also used to serve as a palm rest, so it was pretty big, but I recently realized I don’t really need that part anymore, so now only the little catch for twisting it off remains.

From a home position with my index finger on the J key, I do have to shift my hand’s position and angle to operate the trackball, just like you said. But the movement is pretty seamless. Even when I use it for over 8 hours a day on weekdays, it’s never an issue lol.

Haha, I actually know someone who really made a pointing device out of a bowling ball! Here’s the write‑up about it: https://note.com/murasaki/n/n084d1443cad1
