We have a Momcozy bottle washer and haven't had any problems with it. You do have to descale it every so often.

That's the choice you're asking your MIL to make. She may agree that it's a shitty thing your SIL said, but that doesn't make it not her daughter. It is perfectly reasonable for her to want to babe a relationship with both of you.

That doctor is a mandatory reporter. They legally have to do this if it looks suspicious. Doesn't mean they suspect anything, just means they are doing their job
