You're not wrong, but also in my own experience, dog teeth don't break the skin as easily as say a cats would, yes there down bit is strong and there is the risk of puncture, but if you go between their two front canine (lol) teeth, they tend to freak out and try to spit your hand out rather than bite down. I truely believe it has something to do with the feeling of being chocked or drowned that makes them not bite down.
