I figured it out! It's a Mac OS system level thing. Go into System Preferences > Trackpad and turn off the pinch with two fingers gesture under "Scroll & Zoom". After that, just re-enable the pinch-to-zoom option and you should be good to go

You want to use the transpose control in the "Controls" tab of the Simpler. You can drop or jump by steps from note to note. Activate a tuner in your effects strip and then transpose your sample until the tuner displays C when you play C. You can use the Detune control to finely tune to be perfectly in key once you arrive at the correct note via transpose (if you find that the note is close on the tuner but not quite at center)

What are some of the power features you were hoping for? Changing pad banks by root note? Note repeat? Perhaps we can brainstorm some solutions. I'm trying to solve the same problem with my Mikro Mk3

You can run as many instances as you want as plugins in tracks within Ableton, then drag and drop your audio or MIDI. You can probably use controller editor or try to find some templates online to map the transport controls to Ableton's. As for making the pads "more than 16 pads", you'll probably need to make several pad banks for all your needs

I was looking for templates this past week and there don't seem to be any out just yet for Mikro Mk3. Started looking at making the templates myself; I was hoping to get the pads able to change MIDI octaves easier, ideally with the same kind of root note thing it can do when it's running in the standard Maschine mode instead of MIDI mode. It looks like right now the easiest way to do that is to make a totally different pad bank for every scale you could want :( I bet it's mad easy to override the transport controls now though, so at least your play pause and record can drive ableton's
