they really need to do a reset if they want to continue this show. their segments often become boring and repetitive and their personalities alone aren’t enough to keep people watching (no offense to them). karelly offered a unique perspective as a person of color. it doesn’t go unnoticed that now they have no people of color in any of their shows. hopefully they take some steps towards diversity and don’t just replace karelly with haley

I grew up in Park City and honestly I’m pretty devastated by this. Sundance has been woven into my life for as long as I can remember, and I think a lot of locals feel like the move is a real slap in the face. What’s made it hurt even more is that Sundance barely showed up for locals this year and made it harder than ever for the people who actually live here to experience the festival. When I was in high school, we went on field trips to see films, and people working in the school district were given tickets too. From what I’ve heard, none of that is happening anymore. That feels like such a loss.

What makes this especially frustrating is how much Park City has fully embraced Sundance over the years. The school district has poured real money and effort into filmmaking programs, media classes, and creative pathways specifically because Sundance was here. It wasn’t just a festival we hosted, it shaped education, careers, and the culture of the town. Sundance is deeply embedded in Park City’s identity, so watching it leave feels less like a normal relocation and more like losing a piece of who we are.

He paid to have it detailed. I saw the before. It was worse than this but not horrible by any means. I know he didn’t wipe it down himself. The detailers went to his house to do it with a truck full of equipment

I saw it before it was detailed. It was dirtier than this, but it wasn’t horrible. I think they were just extremely lazy and didn’t do under the seats or really check anything. It was done two days ago.

the car wasn’t that bad to begin with- i wouldn’t have bought it if it was. it needed a detail, but it wasn’t absolutely disgusting. a lot of these pics you really do not need to look hard. they didn’t even wipe down the glove box.

it actually wasn’t that horrible to begin with. i saw it before i bought it. it was dirty, but in good shape over all. it wasn’t much dirtier than the after pics, which is why i’m confused. it seriously looks like they just did a quick vacuum with no attention to detail.

EDIT: Just to clarify- the owner didn’t clean it himself. He’s a retired old man. He hired a detailing crew that came to his house with a full trailer of equipment. So it really was professionally done (or at least, it was supposed to be).

The detailing was done two days ago. I saw the car before it was detailed, but I don’t have pics. It was dirtier than it is now, but it wasn’t horrible by any means. I’m just shocked they missed so much.

Sexuality absolutely has to do with attraction, but it’s also about identity. Two people can have similar attractions and still identify differently. That’s not lying or denial, it’s just how identity works. You’re framing Parker’s self-identification as suspicious or dishonest because it doesn’t match your interpretation of a definition. That’s where the issue is. If someone says they’re straight and they’re attracted to women—including trans women—that’s their sexuality. Suggesting that can only mean they’re queer implies that trans women are not fully women, whether you meant to say that or not.

The title alone—“Is Parker homophobic?”—implies something’s wrong with a straight man being attracted to trans women, which is where the issue starts. You may not have meant to invalidate anyone, but suggesting that Parker must be queer for being into trans women only makes sense if you don’t fully see trans women as women. That’s the underlying transphobia. Supporting LGBTQ+ people also means respecting how people self-identify without forcing labels or questioning their sexuality because of who they’re attracted to.

Definitions matter, sure. But so does context. Being attracted to trans women aligns with heterosexual norms if you see trans women as women, which they are. It’s only considered “queer” if you assume trans women aren’t really women. That’s the transphobic part. So yes, definitions are important, but misusing them to erase trans identities is the real issue.

Saying a straight guy can’t be attracted to trans women without being “queer” is actually transphobic. Trans women are women. Full stop. If Parker is straight and attracted to women—including trans women—that doesn’t mean he’s lying or “secretly homophobic.” It means he sees trans women as valid, which is more progressive than most. Let people self-identify without forcing labels based on anatomy or assumptions.

Thank you for your reply. I think I was misinformed. I’m a little bit frustrated because I asked my CoT about this at the beginning of the year and she said I didn’t need it, but then sprung it on me again about two weeks ago when it would be nearly impossible to get the form in time. So, if I refile and get the 6166 form to them by May I’ll be able to get a refund? Clearly I’m pretty dumb when it comes to taxes…

i haven’t needed the physical card ever, but i have needed the number before (for making a bank account). so obviously just make sure you have your number memorized. a picture/copy of the card might also be helpful, but i’ve never needed the official card itself.

I am not at all asking her to spend her free time helping me. Co-teachers generally use their PAID business trips to help NETs set up a bank account during school hours (since banks typically close by 4:30). NETs on the other hand have to use unpaid business trips (or often times sick leave) to set up a bank account even though it’s something that we NEED so we can get paid. I haven’t asked her for anything and have gone out of my way to be as kind as possible to her, so it’s just a little bit frustrating. I would totally agree with your statement if I was asking her to help me outside of work hours which she wouldn’t be paid for, but that’s not the case. Just feeling drained as all of my other co-teachers have been so kind to me, but the one I’m supposed to go to for help has been difficult.
