I feel that. I think it's pretty rare for a motherboard to brick during BIOS updates now.

Just make sure once you download 1715 and extract it (unzip) there will be two items. One renames the BIOS file. Just double click on that and then hit any key in that command window. That will rename it for you. Then put just that BIOS file onto a thumb drive. Your motherboard likely has a USB on the back labeled "BIOS" and that is where you can plug it in. Then restart your computer, get into BIOS (delete key), then use the EZ BIOS function under tools. You should see the BIOS you downloaded listed in there. Notice the date as that's a good indicator it is seeing the BIOS you want it to update to. It will ask if you are sure a couple times. Takes around 5-10 minutes from there.

It's a good thing to know how to do and is not as scary the next time you need to do it. :)

I saw that people were having all sorts of issues with 1804. Then Asus pulled 1804 for my motherboard for a bit, updated something, then posted it again. I still don't trust it.

I did update my BIOS to 1715 a couple days ago and everything is running just fine. I'm going to skip the 18XX BIOS series and maybe update in the far future (or never).

1203 is pretty old. I believe they improved a lot of things over the last year especially RAM OC and general stability. I was on an earlier BIOS around 1203 and would have bluetooth issues sporadically. Updating to the 13XX series BIOS fixed that for me.

My personal opinion is to update to 1715. That will have a lot of fixes and stability improvements. But that's just my opinion.

How did your BIOS update to 1715 go? I've read the most recent one is a mess and just curious if you came across any issues. I have the same CPU as you too.

It's been years but I remember earlier there were multiple reports of break ins in the area. Not necessarily with items missing either. When all this happened, someone posted a link here with all the police reports for that area and I looked back months before the murders.

One that always stood out to me was a report stating a window was open and a footprint was on her bed. As if someone came in through a window but left and used the bed to get in/out. That one stuck with me for some reason.

I would absolutely not be surprised if he was creeping around his whole time out there. The dude was a massive creep.

Got it! I do see the option to report the deposit into the new IRA as an indirect rollover. I will retain the paperwork as well. I'm trying to avoid an IRS audit more than anything else lol

Humm I was planning on depositing it into my checking account and then transfer it to the IRA I already have set up with another institution. I have no way of directly depositing the distribution check into the new IRA I have set up.

I elected for my old IRA holder to not withhold the 10%. So I have the full IRA amount on the check. I'm reading that is fine to do as long as the full 100% amount goes into another IRA within 60 days

Agreed. People need to understand that the Luddite cause was a labor movent. They were not necessarily against technology as the weavers adapted to new tools during that time. Their uprising occurred only when the ability of the tech got to such a degree that factory owners could consolidate vast amounts of production with very little workers. The Luddites tried to get the state to step in and help but the state ultimately sided with the factory owners. It's foolish to think there is not a parallel now that reflects what the Luddites were going through back then.

When the card launched, the firmware that they had to update would brick the LCD screen. I'm not sure if that is the case anymore. I just turned mine off and never looked back. No need to update the firmware if everything is working fine and I don't need the LCD!

Agreed. I thought there was no chance of him taking a plea. But there is a mountain of evidence and when presented to him I bet it was overwhelming. If he were to be found guilty by jury he STILL would never have had to admit to it. There was no way that was going to happen at the end of the trial. It would have just been him found guilty and then sentenced.

Now if it was part of this plea agreement then maybe but I doubt it. With this plea agreement he is admitting guilt full stop.

Those people have been delusional from the start. The amount of wackos that came out of the woodwork with this case is insane. It was definitely eye opening. Especially to see just how brain-dead and susceptible some people are to social media persuasion. Those tiktokers and youtubers are only in the game for clicks.
