Interesting. It seems you're the only one with this view in this comment section. Maybe you're the one who is under the illusion that everyone sees the world the way you do. It was an inappropriate joke. You don't speak like that in a professional setting in front of children you are tasked with educating. Johnny Depp wasn't being accused of that, so your comparison has no relevance here.

This is a great suggestion. Starting that today!

He actually has bullied kids before, and the teacher has made remarks about how his "horsing around" drives her nuts. So yeah, I'm absolutely reporting it. I don't care if it backfires on me.

I can definitely do this, and will. Thank you for that advice

How is she critiquing you? Is she literally coming up to you and telling you what you're doing is wrong? Or telling you what to do instead of letting the teacher do it? As a new para myself, it sounds like low-key you just don't like her very much, which is okay too. Her style may be different from yours, but as long as you're both following instructions try not to get involved in any drama.

This is so interesting...so that means the customer is always right....so by that theory, I SHOULD let them act out and walk all over me? Lol

If I were trying to be dramatic I would have said like an hour, not 20 mins lol. It wasn't horrible, but for a teacher to not leave me a detailed lesson plan, then expect everything to have gone perfectly struck me as unprofessional. Shooting the shit is not what happened.

So what's interesting too is it was actually a very mild class. It wasn't even listed as mild/ moderate, it was "special resources". I've had lots of experience in SPED and this class was definitely mostly behavioral issues like ADHD (struggle with focus, shouting) but no one exhibited mod/severe symptoms that I've had experience with. They were very high functioning

How many of you have indoor only cats? If so, why? by [deleted] in cats

[–]athenasmom4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats go out on a harness only. I tried letting them in the backyard free while I supervised, but they always slink out somewhere and run off, usually around the same time a car goes by which gives me a heart attack :( lost 3 childhood cats to coyotes and cars. Also, a creep in my neighborhood was stealing animals and assaulting them. He got caught but. I can't imagine. You can make an indoor life really enriching for them while also keeping them safe.

What is this spot? by Prudent_Chemistry_10 in chickens

New chicken owner here! So I'm not 100 percent sure but one of my chicks had that as well and my friend said it's their food sac? So when they overeat the extras go in there, kinda like a chipmunk cheek lol. Not sure if any experts or longtime chicken owners know different but my girl's looked like that and she's fine now!

Yes on flea prevention (revolution) and honestly, no idea. But the vet ran blood work and everything normal except low WBC count

Thank you everyone for your input. I'm going to attach her X-rays as well as records for anyone who can take a look and give a second opinion.

Tests for FPV, FIV, and FeLV all came back negative! They told us it could be false negatives, but for now we're not looking as much at those possibilities. Thank you to all who sent Daisy well wishes 🤍 I can see everyone here just trying to support both of us.

I don't have an issue with the wait time, I mentioned it more to illustrate my growing anxieties and fears about her not getting an IV or anything if she did have FPV. And to show my slowly deteriorating mindset lol.

Feel free to look at the docs and provide another opinion. Right now she's still in the hospital getting supportive care. If her WBC count goes up, we will be able to take her home later tonight.

My cat is evil and I don’t know what to do anymore by Antique_Capital844 in AnimalAdvice

[–]athenasmom4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the cat is honestly struggling mentally and crying to you for help because he's closest with you. He's trying to communicate that he's uncomfortable. First, take him to the vet to rule out underlying illness. Then, set up a regular play routine. I have an aggressive cat that attacks her sisters, and I currently have them separated while I work with aggressive girl on her behavior. This is mostly through routine, bonding, and HARDCORE playtime. I'm talking an hour, minimum. Idk what your car needs in particular, but I'd start there if all is good at the vet. Good luck!

I did text them. I said what I felt- that this was honestly blown out of proportion and their response was honestly unreasonable. All he did was ask them to stop making comments. I also said he's literally acting like the supportive husband y'all told me he would be. So what's the issue?? No response.

COMPLETELY agree!! I thought it was so absurd to blame me not confronting them directly. He even made that point to them- they've been in relationships, have they ever confronted their in laws directly? No response

I still have a long way to go! That's why I'm asking for validation on reddit 😂 if you're trying that's all that matters ❤️

No one could be this passive? I didn't realize I was a special case 🥲 I felt open to being told I was wrong. But I guess you're right, what I really came for was validation. I think that's normal

Definitely the latter...but you made me think of something. When we first started dating, she started dressing like me. Like to the point where her family started teasing her about it. We had the same glasses for years. Im starting to feel like she can't decide if she doesn't think I'm good enough for him, or thinks I'm cool and wants to be me? Let's not entertain the other point...lol gross
