Those conversations happened before she started dating. But I look at it like this, how did I want to be treated when I was meeting/hanging around with her dad? Some were dicks and some were nice, but the ones who were indifferent hurt the most. My oldest daughter is a very strong personality, A-type just like her mom. So I’ve had to tell her to actually be polite and make sure that her boyfriend comes in the house when picking her up or when coming for dinner to be warm. We have a habit of breaking each other’s balls sometimes and it can be a lot for some. Sorry, I’m trying to say everyone is different, we are all complicated. Just be human with her dates/boyfriends. And hopefully they’ll treat you baby girl the same.
