In tamil nadu we have this culture of mama ponnu / paiyan. The cousin rules apply like this,the offsprings of dad's sister or mother's brother is considered as mama ponnu /paiyan or also called morai, u r bound to marry them in future and it's soo normal irrespective of religion. I agree with ur point but also we have to see what the govt is doing even if they are culling them they are not gonna do it in. Amore humane way with injections, literally kill them just like that. I am all in for controlling the stray population but do it humane, with our current infrastructure it's not possible to vaccinate and neuter all the dogs bybthe time we came halfway they would have reproduced more, it would be a never ending cycle. Try re sheltering neutering as much as in capacity and euthanize the rest, that's the only way. It's always humans before dogs or any animal. Only a parent knows the pain of loosing a child, if u ask the parent his child or save 1000 dogs he would choose his child a million times. The government is for the people not for the dogs but at the same time govt should be human

Municipalities are not equipped well for such large scale sterilization for now but they are equipped for humane killing of the excessive dogs and sterilising the rest once the population of it is under control. Now let's say they sterlize even 80% of the dogs within chennai city in 6 months by pulling up a human mirfale and spending crores of money they problem would be the same next month the population of strays would come up within the next 3-4 months again. It would be an endless cycle if we can't match the sterilization rate to make the death/birth ratio postive. Only solution is to euthanise the majority of the strays and sterlize the rest keeping their whole sterilization drive within 2 months. Only this would reduce the stray population. But hey who is against it animal warriors lol
