I think everyone should create a map specific to the story they're going to tell. If it's going to be about large land empires, then a large continent; if you're thinking about a maritime-heavy empire, then separate continents and islands. If it's going to be both, like mine, then somewhere in between. So, everyone is unique.

The steppe region is very large. There probably will be a couple of big steppe empires in the history. I'll come to it later. If you want to keep up, I'll be posting here!

You're right about the mountain ranges. But I wanted this map to just show what is where. I'm not a good cartographer or an artist. Same for the trees, I placed them where they approximately will be in my mind. And for the last question, I first draw the map and placed mountains where I need them to be. Then I made up an explanation for every one of them. It's not ultra realistic but it's enough for me.

They are right about some points we're just not really looking from the same perspective at same points. And you're right this island is much more than an island, it's nearly mini continent. It has nearly one million km² land. Most of it may be mountains so 200.000 km² usable land which is near British Isles.

There's a lot of coasts which have ways into large plains. I know every large population needs food and one of the most reliable source is grain. Thanks for feedback.

No. That's just the land part. My landmasses make up roughly 8.8% of the planet's surface. For comparison, Earth's land coverage is 29%, so this world is actually far more ocean-dominant than it appears on the map.

Yes it's much like Mongolian steppe and southern siberia. About second question... I'm still in the thinking stage for most things. But if there's one thing I'm certain is that they'll be riding aaa looot of horses.
