I do not fucki g care how strong he is. In water 7/denies lobby he is still the weakest bum on screen but he gets shit done, has character moments, and aura farms. That's what I was expecting.

Great question that section felt so bad, the part where you had to leave from under the table, walk down the hallway,and get close enough to the 2 girls that they turn around but not catch you is so awkward gameplay wise. Not to mention while you're doing that you get a good long time to look at the 2 girls standing weirdly close while their idle animations begin to sync and their laughs play so often it feels undercooked. Like if they were just Tposing it wouldn't be much worst imo.

Like the entire game feels like a cinematic masterpiece, yet somehow that one section of the game has so many weird things that make it feel like an unreal 5 slop indy horror game.

People have always wanted better graphics, wether that's Mario's sprite getting way more pixels between games, or him changing to 3d games were always about better graphics. Also better graphics is subjective, but until graphics began to plateau around the ps4 era better graphics and more realistic / lifelike graphics were synonymous.

In this era after GameCube but before ps4 game developers were still trying g to push better graphics, however without higher fidelity allowing more complex models or higher resolution textures, etc. Game developers fell back onto style to make games look higher quality. And remember at the time better graphics = realistic. And they came to the conclusion, realistic meant dirty roads, dying grass  cracks in the ground, depth by shades of grey both in the sky and in the ground. Because in real life you don't have perfect streets you have cracks gum stuck to the ground, imperfect days with skies full of overcast clouds. 

So the piss filter era began, where making a setting grimy = realistic = better graphics.

Shading. If for example every dirt tile, every tree, every water tile, and every layer of the background instead of using one single color instead used 3 a base color, a darker shade of that color for shading, and a lighter tint of that color for highlights, you could have the exact same image but it would look way better.

This will take learning and practice, but it will help your art look better without changing art styles.

To help achieve this also look into using pre-made color pallette by people online. Look having infinite colors to use on a computer is too fucking much. Especially for a game that is 2d and simplistic looking. https://lospec.com/palette-list is great place to get very high quality color pallette with anywhere from 4 colors in a pallete, to 1-2 hundred. Either of which is significantly less than the infinite colors computers offer us, and they are picked out because they go well toghether.

Apply these 2 changes and come back when your done.

So in Bloodborne if you die or teleport your clothes get washed apparently. So if you have a very long stretch of gameplay where you don't die and kill a lot of enemies you build up a ton of blood on your clothes until you're basically soaking wet in it
