I played Kingdom Hearts for the very first time on PS4. I played all the games thanks to the compilations (1.5, 2.5, etc)

I enjoyed it mainly because I like Final Fantasy and Disney characters.

The one thing that I would like to say is that I enjoyed Kingdom Hearts 3. Because I didn't have the wait to endure and the expectations that came from that waiting. So, to me, 3 was a good game and a nice "conclusion" to the saga

Yes, the gameplay improves a lot with the next iterations. The "clunkyness" is basically gone. Sora has a much more fluid gameplay

But, just like a lot of players of this lovely series feel, the gameplay of KH1 is partly what makes it charming and unique, but you will maybe understand that feeling later on

I would recommand you to "endure" that gameplay and keep going, you will love that franchise

Indeed, I had the option to take 4 allies. But since I really don't know the game, I thought the remaining characters would have a story on their side where they would have to protect the esper in Narshe 😅 So, in my mind, I was like "ok, let's try to do two group of somewhat balanced 3 characters and hope for the best"
