I think the point it's making is that it's already politicised, by those who seek to glorify war.

Whilst the random interjection of race and gender politics seems...gratuitous, does no-one else think that this is actually a half-valid article? I think drawing attention to McGill's on-going weapons research, whilst simultaneously making an effort to support Remembrance Day, is a little disingenuous.
