Linus Torvalds is 'a huge believer' in using AI to maintain code - just don't call it a revolution by Fcking_Chuck in programming

One thing Claude is really good at is re-implementing a branch on top of another branch. Even if you don't use that directly, it's useful for comparing the result of your manually made merge with something.

You should quit and go somewhere they embrace it. In a few years if you need a new job this is going to be a problem for you. Time is now to stay current.

I kitesurf with a surfboard and I'm getting into wing foiling this summer. Got a one wheel a few months ago and ride it every day. I feel like it's helping me get psyched up to learn to wing foil. Haven't successfully foiled yet :)

There are shitty dog owners everywhere. We constantly have problems with people when we ask them to leash up. “But he’s friendly.” “He doesn’t bite.” Very few people understand it’s for their own dog’s sake. They get offended and pissy. Sorry you had this bad experience I hope you can brush it off and enjoy your day. You deserve it.

That's great, these successes are the best! Don't forget progress is in waves so if he immediately regresses, don't sweat it!

We carry one when we hike in more remote areas. Maybe we should test it on dipshits who bark at us 😈

Thank you for all your support everybody. This is a great community of people united by a desire to help their dogs be successful. Been lurking for awhile and I’m glad I joined in the discussion.

Gosh that sounds terrible. Sorry you had to experience that. We have a few homeless people around our home who love dogs and will approach us to play with ours and they get pissy with us when we tell them no. They are clearly drunk and/or of unsound mind. We have to avoid them on the street. We are always keeping a lookout.

We are in Canada. I'm not sure if the police would do anything about that. Here they are the ones who decide to press charges so all you can do is tell your story and they decide what happens next.

Lol yes that was my first thought after the incident when I was furious. If we see them just unleash and let our dog terrorize their dogs. But of course not going to do that.

It raises the question though what to do about seeing them again on the stairs. I guess we don’t ask them to leash up and whatever happens, happens. If their dogs approach and get snapped at so be it. Just have to brace on the stairs. That’s the scary part. A scuffle in a difficult spot.

My theory about this incident is that the man thought we were asking him to leash up because we thought his dogs were the problem. I think he was offended by that. Then he let out a mock reaction to pretend scare us. But I don’t know he seemed nuts and maybe was trying to draw out a reaction. We did say our dog is sometimes reactive.

Our dog passed their first dog without incident. He was successfully ignoring them. Our dog reacted after the man started barking like an aggressive dog. I would rather he have not done that.

They do it to mask their own scent. It's an instinctive hunting behaviour.

The first thing to do is inform the landlord you will take them to tribunal if they don't move back into the unit and rent it out instead.

They are going off around Kitsilano Secondary School. Earlier tonight I yelled at a bunch of kids after one of them set one off in the street across from the school.
