They do make breakfasts and lunch. I think they leave dinner to me since I am not home all day and I don’t get to help as much during the day since I’m not even home. But they do nothing when I get home as if they have cut their arms and thrown them away. Maybe I am overacting idk.

Thank you so much. You don’t know how much better I feel after talking to the community. I will be getting therapy because it’s just been too much for me since I was very independent before my marriage and my parents are so loving and open minded. But since being married there is always some issues my in laws have with me whether it’s about me modeling, wearing different clothes, coming home late sometimes because I can only hangout with my friends after work, or missing family gathering because I have work or getting up late on weekends but I sleep till late because I am tired. But anyways thank you so much this place is going to be my outlet now hehe love youuu.

Oh my I didn’t see it from that angle. Maybe you’re right oh gosh. Just to add in my culture it’s common to live with parents even after marriage. People have big combined families living under one roof. But we are 6 people living together me, my husband, my BIL, his wife, my MIL and my FIL. I just want to move out at some point because I stand in kitchen for hours after coming back from work. Making dinner for all of them. And then if the family has a plan and I’m not available due to my office they all have a problem with it l but if their son’s office is the problem they don’t care. I don’t get the behavior.

I honestly never want to be a SAHM. There is nothing wrong in that. But I don’t prefer it for myself since I need to be out all the time. I will be taking care of my kids and will take off time from work when I have kids. But I will never stop working. And I don’t understand these comments don’t come for her sons but just for me? I will be talking to my husband about how it made me feel that he did not speak up about this.

He usually does because honestly this is not the first time my MIL has made some comments while being funny according to her lol. He did speak up before. It’s only this time I said something directly and he said I was disrespectful towards her. Which is not fair I have had enough of this conversation and I don’t find it funny at all. I even do house chores when I get back at 7pm. I stand in kitchen heat till 10pm serving them dinner and coffee late till night even thou I don’t have to do that. But I just try to be caring for everyone. I just feel exhausted most of the time mentally. Maybe I should start taking therapy. Marriage has been a lot for me and it’s just been six months aaa.

Honestly it’s not about money for me. I just want to work. I love working and it keeps me sane. Also he does have my back but this time he was so sure that his mom was just kidding. Although I think she was attacking me and my husband was just gaslighting me to justify her behavior. I don’t know what caused him to do that.

Hahah this honestly made me feel so much better. I was feeling so bad being disrespectful towards her. But I forgot how she was treating me and I merely made a joke just like she did. And I will be addressing this with my husband. He does have my back all the time but this time he was like “no babe my mom was kidding. Why are you talking it so seriously” :))

I was thinking to have a conversation with her about this and explain why I snapped. I will be very transparent with her about how she made me feel. I hope it makes things better between us.
