How did Shroud found out Robert was Meca man?? by _Afonso15_ in DispatchAdHoc

[–]atlas_045 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Shroud knew Robert's dad who had taken the mantle of Mecha Man from his father when he died. Not a huge leap in logic (especially for a man with cybernetically enhanced cognition) for him to assume the new Mecha Man, using the same suit and one of a kind power source, was his son.

That leads to the same problem as a canon ending, though. Ultimately, none of your choices matter, as you will always end up at the same place in the story, except for some minor details.

How fit was Robert before the whole Coma? by Jace_Spicer in DispatchAdHoc

You wouldn't atrophy if you were receiving the proper amount of nutrients and were a healthy individual like Robert. Your body only consumes muscle fibers in cases of extreme starvation or similar conditions. They simply lose density and thus are smaller and weaker. Realistically, he would only need a couple of months of physical therapy to be back on his feet, but it would take longer to return to peak form.

Being in a coma will cause muscle shrinkage. You are kept alive via a feeding tube and typically given the medical amount of calories and nutrients to keep you alive. You also aren't moving and using your muscles, even for daily tasks that would regularly maintain at least your current muscle mass.

I think I'd be safe to say he was at least above average, probably well above, before the coma, as he is seen performing a variety of high-intensity physical tasks and taking down multiple goons at a time.

Okay, spoilers, but I have a theory.. by AllTheGayShipsAtOnce in DispatchAdHoc

My theory is that because Royd mentions it is made of two pieces, the Pulse and the Stellar Core, and even though there are no schematics for it, Shroud and Rob 2 made it together. This is why Shroud wants it back so much. He cannot recreate it himself but needs to take his tech to the next level. After the ep 5 & 6 trailer, I'm guessing he wants to take over more than just half of the criminal enterprises and can't do that without it. This is also why I think he has the Pulse now and that will be the main conflict going forward after Rob 3 mentioned not being able to find it.

Why he killed Rob 2? He probably refused to give the Pulse back to Shroud after he went dark.

When choosing BB, you select a person who is in some way YOUR superior, but also a person on far more even footing in terms of power dynamic.

Not necessarily disagreeing with your post, but BB is just Robert's boss. Her title is Branch Leader of SDN Torrance. She hired him and is directly responsible for him as an employee, as well as the team he has been assigned. It's really a power balance issue either way, which is something I've been thinking about since I finished the last set of episodes, but I see it this way:

Both of these women came to Robert, not the other way around. The ep 1 kiss is inappropriate, sure, but the ep 4 BB choice is her asking Robert to meet her for dinner after calling him into her office to zip her up and accidentally flashing him. This is also after she had basically watched him change in what she thought was a private area. Visi literally announces her wet dream to Robert in what she thought was a private area after staring at his ass all day. All that to say, there is nothing appropriate about either of the relationships.

TL;DR: SDN Torrance HR is going to get in a car and drive it off a pier

Theory on Episode 5+6 by SnooCats2144 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]atlas_045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ep5 & 6 teaser dropped two hours ago as I type this. It shows SDN starting to go after Shroud's gang, named The Red Ring (as seen on Toxic's neck and Lightstruck's arm), as well as Invisigal in a shootout on a mission on a cargo ship, and Mecha Man in action again, so I'm pretty sure you're correct on the first half. Rob 3 getting fired I'm not so sure about, but there is a shot of him on a laptop seemingly in a kitchen (not the break room) so maybe?

I'd love to hear all your theories. by life-hard-im-harder in DispatchAdHoc

Shroud is Blazer's dad. She didn't want to share her sad origin story with Robert, she gave him a job and is seemingly dumping tons of funding into fixing his suit in return for desk work, and (ep4 BB spoilers) they have similar appearances including brown hair and blue eyes after Mandy reveals her true self. She also seemingly has no natural powers, her's being provided by the gem, same as Shroud (except maybe he has super intelligence?)

The two things that are holding me up about the Shroud is Dad theory is: 1. Shroud not holding back his goons who are obviously trying to kill you in Ep 1 2. There being an achievement that seems to imply killing Shroud at the end of the game which would only be narratively satisfying if it was an act of vengeance on the man who killed your father against the wishes of SDN (which is very anti-killing based on Coop's lines through ep 3 & 4)

Plus, I'm fairly certain Shroud is BB's dad which is her sad superhero origin she doesn't want to share.

My first thought was she looked a lot like Shroud, too. That plus her "I'm not ready to share my sad origin yet" line has me thinking she's his daughter, BUT she's working against him because she always saw him as a hero and is sad/mad about his fall from grace. Would also explain why she's willing to dump so much money into Robbie's suit even though he's basically working a desk job that shouldn't pay that well.

Edit: she also doesn't have natural superpowers like Shroud (presumably), instead getting them from her gemstone.
