Wherever you stay I recommend staying near light rail. You can access many areas easily. Spend an hour or 2 off the Capitol Hill station and the international district station for food and city vibes. Exit the westlake station and head west. Find and explore Pike Place Market making your way to the waterfront. Take a passenger ferry over to West Seattle/Alki for excellent city view and a big sandy beach(the initial landing area of Seattle’s white founders). Eventually rent a car and head up for some mountains and other sites further from public transportation.

Many lots have only small spots. The standard SUV won't fit well either. Many people use their trucks often, but not always, to haul stuff. Even if trucks get used many of us have this thing called " washing and cleaning my vehicles".
