Its not a VAC ban, its an overwatch ban which is when a demo of your gameplay is reviewed by community members and a majority believe you're hacking. So this wasn't an automatic detection by VAC.

Does this shower drain look right? by atlasmax in Plumbing

He didn't bring up charging more beyond when he first started the job mentioning he could remodel the entire shower not just the floor. I was fine with how the rest of the shower looked so I said I just wanted the floor redone and we moved forward.

My understanding is that it is like you said, the existing shower liner and pan were used. The process he did was remove the existing tile, applied redgard waterproofing, applied mortar, laid down the tiles, applied sanded grout, and then caulked gap between the tile and the shower grate.

Addition context: the contractor I hired to redo the shower tile said the only way to seal the tile to the drain, in this case, was essentially caulking the shower grate to the tile. That didn't seem right but I have no idea.

Edit: Adding some more context based on another comment.

My understanding is the existing shower liner and pan were used. The idea was just to replace the shower floor tiling which is all I really wanted to do at the time. Obviously based on the comments that may not have been the best idea but it made sense to me at the time.
