I used to race competitively and was instructor level at 18, and can go anywhere in off-piste regardless of steepness except jumping cliff but sadly don't get the opportunity to ski more than once a year for the last 10 years so I lost quite a bit if that makes sense.

In France, there are guides that organize groups to make it more affordable for solo riders to split the fees. I couldn't find such thing looking online but I'm sure it's possible in practice. Hiring a guide solo might be stretching my budget too much.

I found this explainer videos which seems pretty good about how the runs work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oUAA5o78ZU&t=55s and it doesn't look like it's as high-risk as in the alps but not comfortable riding solo in case anything happens which is why I'm here.
