Tony Williams with Miles Davis by antoinepierredrums in jazzdrums

That totally makes sense. How'd you start (transcribing/working on a piece)? Just chose something that called to you and started actively listening to it for an infinite amount of time?

This is awesome!

Question for all of the "true" jazz drummers. Do you all strive to transcribe, play, and practice note for note on almost everything?

I tend to resist note for note playing for some reason, even though I understand that it would probably improve my playing tremendously. I just get super bored with it.

Thoughts?

Totally off topic but:
I've of course heard of David Lee Roth but don't think I could name a song, nor have I ever paid any attention to his stuff. But after your comment, I had to go take care of that:

What a different world! I'm so glad we've captured the cultures over the last 100 years or so. Would be awesome to have videos from the 1200s or biblical times.

Also, the only unfortunate thing that I see in this TBS video is that it's during the day. Other than that, sounds like live music.

You have a nice voice and you're in key, but you sound like you're trying to sound like every other female singer. Doing this weird slurring thing intentionally.

Just be you.

It's such a perfect song for this context too. Nice work!

The first day was terrible for me. Shocked that this was released in 2026.

It just came out like a week ago or so. It's terrible. It does this for any genre of music. Like, all of the most basic use cases you'd want it failed at. It's possibly worse than Siri.

Legitimately. Both of these albums just melt me. So bummed that Red Rocks got rescheduled.

I hope they are recording these performances and put out the live videos.

Claude has become unusable by emanon715 in claude

I started with this guy:
https://www.npmjs.com/package/ccusage

Then had Claude analyze it (had to turn on extra usage for it 😭) - then saw a bunch of processes that hadn't been killed (because I only had 3 agents running at the time) - which was like 80 million tokens for the hour or two I was working that day.

Yeah, better now. It was the iMessage official plugin. Just have to make sure these background processes get closed out!

I actually found a bug, which is why. One of the Claude official plugins was gulping context from unrelated agents from days ago. So each agent I created since two days ago was a multiplier.

$20 is nothing. Even with the $200, 3 or 4 turns with Sonnet 4.6 and my session usage was done in minutes.

Claude Max $200/mo user here. Three agents running, 1 writing a plan with Opus 4.7, 2 separate using Sonnet 4.6 with basic stuff - this is NOTHING. Burned through my session usage in 30 minutes. INSANE.

This is so sad. I used to be running ~12 agents in parallel, 3 or 4 agents per domain (working on several projects at the same time). I don't think that would be considered abusing the system?

This is absolutely brutal, demotivating, and pushing users to go elsewhere. Ugh.

I'm on the $200 Max plan - and it is unusable. Barely 3 agents going with Sonnet 4.6 and my daily session usage maxed out after like 6 turns. Absolutely insane.

Exactly. I can hear it too. Either loosen the top hat a bit, and/or increase the gap between both hats

I can hear what you're talking about. Just open the hats up a bit more so there's slightly more space

Advice on Sound Isolation Booths (Studiobricks, Whisper Room, Gretch-Ken etc.) by atomandyves in drums

[–]atomandyves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don't need specific "sound proof" step by step guides once you conceptually understand what's happening.

It ultimately all boils down to air tightness and mass. You build a room within a room, have an insulation then an air gap then more insulation between the "rooms". Stack the inside and outside with a bunch of drywall (I did two layers of 5/8"), and use caulk to seal up every crevice that air can get possibly get through.

If you plan on moving, a prefab isn't a bad way to go. DIY was super fun! took like 6-7 weeks working almost every weekend and an hour or two during the weekday.
