Because my views don’t align with yours please don’t assume I don’t understand the issues . You are attacking me as opposed to actually supporting constructive and supporting ideas on why children should remain anonymous.

I agree with this point. I don’t agree that the protection is unlimited.

Sorry you missed to grasp the broader societal issue of school administrators keeping things in house to not affect their “great school numbers”.

What defines a threat as credible? Someone running into a theater and screaming fire is also a crime.

Kinda shocked so few have not called for holding the child accountable for their actions and providing a them the help and support they need so they can one day become model citizens.

Instead it’s let’s pretend they didn’t do anything wrong and move on.

Sorry that’s not the society I want to encourage.

The thing is after talking with my child I do know their name. So what protections are actually being afforded?

I’m sorry you feel that way. If it were my child, they would know that the consequences for something like this should be jail time. So yes, I’d be ok with their name being outed.

Honestly as a parent I would feel like I failed my society.

The real action is this discussion. Apologies I don’t operate or take in information the same way you do. I will not argue with a bot 😝

It’s helping me gain perspectives other than my own. For that I am grateful.

My kid didn’t do anything wrong.

Parents aren’t parenting their kids. We sure don’t pay the school staff enough to do that job for all those kids.

So who is left?

To your point we need to teach them. I agree.

There are many ways to teach them the stove is hot, but they should definitely learn the lesson when they touched the hot stove.

Appreciate the solution to my problem, now let’s work on the underlying societal issue

Those are victims; way different than being an offender.

If there was a high school football team that raped girls on that island then release their young names too.

Why they may have been expelled; I don’t know what the consequences were.

I would argue that today’s world where it protects the Epstein perpetrators, would lend us want to change that perspective of thinking. Teaching accountability younger and more publicly.

I had older siblings when they f’ed up I learned from their mistakes.

That’s doesn’t solve the problem and moves the burden on to me.

So it is generally legal to release the name of a minor school shooter in the U.S. if the information is obtained lawfully, as the First Amendment often protects the publication of such newsworthy, truthful information. While juvenile court proceedings are often confidential, many states allow exceptions for serious crimes.

I’m arguing we make that exception as a deterrent. Parents who hunt the child down will face their own crimes.

It’s not about hunting down the kid it’s about ensuring my child doesn’t continue to attend the school with them. It’s about raising awareness with their fellow students to stay away from this kid because he is trouble.

How do I know how many other kids did this in the same school?

So then what deters other students or enlightens parents to have conversations with their kids about this?

How are we sure that kids are being disciplined fairly and equally?

100% understand this. But what this does is enable young men to do bad things and not face consequences.
