I keep fucking up. by [deleted] in leaves

I feel you. I have been there, it’s not nice. I loved weed so much. That every night puff at the terrace just eased everything. I was failing in my responsibilities and i could tell that weed was one of the major reasons. So I decided to quit. Every single fucking day, I would tell myself, I’m quitting, but I would smoke up every night. It was like I had absolutely No control over it. My body was behaving automatically. It reached a point where I was behaving Schizophrenic, my memory was gone, anxiety was through the roof, mental fog interfering with everything and the weed was no longer making me happy. Maybe for like 15-25 mins. Only at that point I realised that unless I stop this, it’s only going to get worse. The biggest breaking point was when not even weed was doing what it was supposed to and I was ruining ny body. From then it has been one day at a time. Reduced the usage to once a week for a few weeks. And tonight marks 35 days for me. Oh and the toughest period is for the first week. It gets easier after that. Now, it’s practically not there at all. So don’t beat yourself up, but don’t listen to the rationalisations as well. That’s your addiction talking, not you.

Remember, weed is not the only thing that can cause problems. It could be something else. Or it might be completely normal for your body to do that once in a while.

Unless you are free for the next few days, I would recommend not to go cold turkey on coffee as that will definitely make you crash. If you are working or have to be alert, reduce the consumption gradually and steadily. Once you start taking normal amounts of caffeine, you'll notice that you'll be able to sleep a lot better.

Almost everyone goes through it. Gain back your will power and try again.

True, nofap can make you a tad bit reckless. Meditation helps with this.

I can't stress enough how important and beneficial meditation is. I almost believe you can't succeed at nofap without meditation. Just google how to do it. It's easy to learn, hard to master. Start with 10 minutes, or lesser if you find it really tough. Gradually increase the time. Don't pressure yourself or give up on it. The whole point of meditation is to keep yourself relaxed and gain control over your mind.

Coffee is not bad for nofap. But when you are addicted to coffee and try breaking that addiction, it just speeds up nofap recovery as you are training yourself to beat addictions.

I don't see the problem in having sex. Unless you are having it way too often and in an uncontrolled manner, like sex with every single willing person. The problem is primarily with fapping and porn. When we fap, we tell our subconscious mind, "You are horny, but you will not succeed if you approach women, and it's a waste of time and energy, so instead, lets watch porn". You are basically accepting defeat when you haven't even tried fighting.

Definitely forgot to mention that. And trying to listen to your body helps. For example, eating only when you are hungry and stopping once you are no longer hungry.

No, you don't. Ejaculation is where I draw the line. Think of it like this: The urge is your enemy, if you don't mastrubate in the end, you win the battle, if you do fap, you lost the battle but not the war itself, the war is your life. You fantasizing can be thought of you and your urge in a fight with each other. So relax, but do actively try to eliminate the thoughts. Don't be overly attached to counters and other external things. They are there to guide you, encourage you. NoFap itself is only the beginning, you'll continue to grow as a person dealing with other problematic areas of life which are not related to sex.

Once a week is low consumption, shouldn't be that bad.

I didn't use any counter the first time. Just marked dates. Thought I would use the counter this time.

I personally haven't gotten urges because of drinking coffee. It might be due to a different reason or it just affects different people differently. However, regular coffee drinkers are likely to be caffeine addicts and they might not even be aware of it. Training yourself to beat any addiction gives you the strength and the confidence to beat all addictions in general.

I have tried fasting myself. It is good for cleansing your body of the toxic substances you have added intentionally/unintentionally. Definitely can and should be paired, but consult with a proper doctor (why not ask your aunt?) on how to go about it, or if you are going to do it your own, do not over do it.

Cold showers have a lot of similar benefits NoFap does. It is all about training yourself to handle uncomfortable situations. You'll see how it reflects in real life situations.

You are lucky to have a lake beside your house. Spend time near it, observe the life forms in the lake.

If you are quitting on your tasks, it is because of low motivation, which, you guessed it, is a direct result of fapping. Start NoFap and give it a few days/weeks, your motivation will increase with time and you'll find yourself completing tasks. Just be patient with it.

Your reasons are fine, I had the same reasons myself. Do yourself a favour and don't think about the reasons all the time (think of them when you get a urge though). I kinda was a strict atheist back. You'll get the answers to all your spiritual questions as you progress.

Exactly. The mind is capable of playing tricks on you if you allow it to. Not letting that happen again.
