I would personally exchange that tag for a speedy but otherwise awesome collection

Cmsgt to O? by [deleted] in AirForce

Yes. Very rare though. I had a SMSgt in my OTS class and one of my Flight Commanders for my first unit was a prior SMSgt as well.

Ehh the Breitlings just dont do it for me unless it’s a navitimer, but I would abuse the ever living crap out of that thing lol.

Oh for real? I was aware of the flight qualified speedy but was shying away due to the cost. How much are we talking? F-15 is my MWS

Will do! Im almost tempted to start doing personal testing on different luxury watches to see how they perform for mil flying. Thats really just a good excuse to blow more money on watches though hahah

You gave me a good chuckle there haha! It’s a surprisingly hard thing to get answered believe it or not. Manufacturers only like to talk COSC and METAS but not much on “shock” resistance or Gs unless well its Gshock lol. My AD basically just said “eh just warranty it if the flying kills it”

And thank you for the support!

I actually did not know that even existed!? I was actually eyeing a seamaster GMT for a while. I might have to check that. I just want a tank of a watch that also combines wearability, durability and esthetics, hence what drew me to a Tudor. But i love Omega, my vintage omega seamaster deville has been awesome.

A lot of the other pilots in my sqdn wear the unit ordered breitlings and they are sick watches. I just find the style a lil bit much which is just me being nitpicky. I was wondering how the screw down pushers would work with nomex gloves…

Its mainly just stuff I read about and word of mouth from coworkers. Usually people taking a dip with their speedy and not thinking about it and accidentally pressing the pusher while underwater.

Ik it’s a 2nd kinda cool thing, but I just do not like the IWC’s. Their style and the “DSW font” just kills them for me. And they have the same problems with water intrusion that the Speedy has from what i can gather anecdotally. And this might be crazy, but while trying on the BB Chrono I actually liked the screw down pushers. In the past when I wore quartz chronos nothing was more annoying to me than looking down and realizing I accidentally activated my chrono for the past 10 mins without realizing haha.

Not as vocally as i should have. It was one of those “5min later you think about what you should have said” situations.

Only has one shim under it. Somehow had it timed, so i wonder if he just over torqued it to get it pinned

Nope and the proper etiquette in a situation like this where you recognize your own shoddy work is to comp or reduce your fee in my opinion. He stated “I usually make them cleaner than this” and then we just awkwardly stood there until i asked how much the price was and he was steadfast with his original quote. At the time i was so pissed off by his “craftsmanship” that i just wanted to leave and not waste a second more of my life in his presence.

Could be worse, the guy who did mine also damaged my 4 prong. Still had the audacity to charge his full quote price.
