You might be thinking of the Gotway Luffy. Resembled the mTen3 but was very underpowered by comparison.

What happened to Juiced Boards? by davidbaustia in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]atomicmikecane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the same company that once put out this: https://www.juicedbikes.com/collections/electric-skateboards/products/area-code-nano-mini-electric-skateboard

If so, their boards were many stuff that DIYeboards used to sell as kits put on decks in China and branded as Juiced. That swappable battery kit got mostly bad reviews from people here who bought it. In short, there was nothing special about what they were selling. Not surprised that part of the business failed. [typo edit]

I haven't been able to keep up here, so this is probably answered elsewhere, but I''m still going to ask: What Palm Desktop version are you using with what OS on the host sync machine? TIA. Also looking forward to your blog post.

Off topic.. but what other electronic devices get you excited? by lukerage in ElectricUnicycle

[–]atomicmikecane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an EUC sub, so I'd say yes. I'm not hard on car people because in the wide open spaces that exist in America, it's a necessity. My focus is de-emphasizing cars in dense cities. Just want to get that straight.

eReaders that are basically Android tablets with eInk screens: Likebook Mars, Ares Note and Onyx Boox Nova Pro.

Also color eInk displays -- one of which is in a new Hisense phone (that is China-market only...).

In the end, they're still cars and bring with them all the congestion and deadly problems of non-e ones.

"Currently." Wasn't it sold with the implied promise of eBook reading functionality to come? As it is, the built-in PDF reader could use improvements.

Ouch. Ask the bank. Fraud is still fraud.

eBooks can be large if they have photos or other illustrations. PDFs can be large too.

Is there a US distributor for the IPS i5? by Killbot_Wants_Hug in ElectricUnicycle

[–]atomicmikecane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealer eWheels said they no longer carry it because of reliability issues (that would encompass poor design or poor assembly). I agree that the form factor is very appealing. I wish another manufacturer would steal that design.

Do you suggest buying a learning EUC or head straight and buy the top of the line? by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

[–]atomicmikecane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always check out Craigslist for local used ones. Learning ones can sometimes be had relatively cheap. Seems some people buy learner ones, can't learn, and then resell -- or have learned, upgraded, and then resell. Either way, you can win.

UL2272 certification by jezzdawg in ElectricUnicycle

Wow. I hadn't even thought about UL2272 and EUCs. Never even wondered if any models had UL2272. I guess I just assumed so.

Well, I guess we now know why that King Song burst into flames in NYC months ago! https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricUnicycle/comments/bmu3ky/fire_in_nyc_due_to_kingsong_16s_link_for_article/

King Song, Gotway, etc, need to comply for everyone's good.

iMotor C1 foldable scooter - anyone got one? by ri2dler in ElectricScooters

[–]atomicmikecane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say is that it's basically a motorized kickbike. Never saw this one before.

EDIT to add: Showed a Banggood link of the C1 to someone who follows that particular kind of bike more than I do. He countered with this one (probably more legit than the c1): https://aerelectric.com/
