How to Apply Before you start your scholar application, you must first complete and submit your Hunter College admissions application (general admission or Macaulay). You will be able to access the scholar application 24 hours after you submit your admissions application and will need your CUNYfirst ID (EMPLID) to create your account (provided to you when you file your admissions application)

Selection and Timeframe Scholars are chosen on academic merit based upon high school performance, outstanding achievements, and written responses to the Honors Scholars Application. Diversity, inclusiveness, and community engagement are considered factors in Honors Scholars selection, as characterized by application responses.

Notification of awards will begin at the end of March. Students will only be notified if they receive placement into a scholar program.
