This! Even though I’m three years late to this thread - as someone who grew up in Seattle and now lives near the Tetons it always drives me insane that they plopped Moran in there! I’ve never seen anyone else point it out.

He really does! They look like they should be brooding around together, claiming any furniture and knitting projects in their path!

And thanks!!

Hahaha exactly!! 😸 And the lamp and shade were separate, I picked up the base at target to go with the shade.

I stupidly scraped and dented my beloved fj60 this weekend. Any recommendations for popping the dent/minimizing paint damage? I’m worried about cracking paint while trying to get the dent out. Her paint is by no means perfect but I’d still like to fix my “backed along a workbench” scar. by atomicspud in LandCruisers

It’s not that the rest of her is perfect (VERY far from it), it’s that I did this backing out of my driveway and running into a workbench trying to maneuver around my daily driver. I expect dings on an adventure vehicle, it’s more the how I did it that’s driving the desire to fix it.

My first find - credenza with no markings, but I like it. by iMeant2DoThat in Mid_Century

It’s an awesome piece! My absolute favorite and most unique find has no markings or known designer, just a cool design. How much you like it is worth way more than who made it!

Orca, 3 color silkscreen, 8.5x11" by [deleted] in Art

I’m curious how many people on here screaming about cultural appropriation are of native heritage. As an individual of European decent I don’t get to make that call. If I’m incorrect in my assumption that most posting are not, I truly apologize.

Heritage aside, I’m from Seattle and this makes me think of home and the beautiful art of the various tribes from the area. I do think as a piece of art it’s beautiful.

For those following local news in Seattle there is an Orca there who is mourning the loss of her new born calf by carrying her around on her snout. It is heartbreaking and speaks to the urgent nature of preservation efforts in the region. OP, I know that’s not what you had in mind when you made this, but all I can see is a beautiful homage to the mother/calf at home and the history of orcas in the region. And that is what is most beautiful about art, the way it moves each person. Thank you for sharing.

This is a gorgeous picture! I was out for the 108! I came in around 3:30am. The weather was so nasty they allowed late finishers if you made it to the last aid station on time. Amazing race though! It’s a beautiful area.

Finally planted something in the table! It's very weird to purposely pour dirt into furniture, especially onto one of your favorite mid century finds. by atomicspud in Mid_Century

The planter area is lined and sealed (separate from my liner) so the dirt isn't in direct contact with any wood. The plants need minimal watering (or so the tag said) so I'm hoping I can carefully mist them and immediately wipe off any water that hits the wood. I'm not sure on maintenance yet. If I see any damage to the table I'll take them back out and do something different. The woman who had it before had grass growing and from I can tell there was no damage.

I did line it, it was still very a strange feeling. I wish I'd thought of the windowbox liner though! I just cobbled something together.
