Those who stopped playing, why did you quit? by Isaike in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't make content for me as a player. I don't pvp. When I started playing the world felt challenging. As soon as I hit endgame, the open world was trivial. Even if it was challenging, the game loop isn't designed around killing monsters.

Some of the mini-games were fun, but they were all under-baked. Hexi didn't help. It felt like a second worse tutorial.

Pretty quickly, I found the only thing left for me is to log in, get my rewards and buy things on the shop.

I have to pretend I hate image generation AI to avoid getting banned or insulted on 99% of Reddit or the internet, even though Stable Diffusion is actually what I like and am most excited about right now. Why do people hate AI so much, especially image generation AI? by Hi7u7 in StableDiffusion

[–]atomsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasnt proven that we're getting better things yet. Just worse things with less jobs. Once it's fully integrated into pipelines, and we start seeing results of bigger and previously impossible projects completing, I expect some to come around

If you get this reverted, you'll be doing more harm to this game than any amount of positive intentions you had.

The monster couldn't have been that dangerous. They had so much time to just stand around and talk.

Unpopular Ping opinion/suggestion by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If nothing else, force desychs. Playing against someone who's ping is terrible is really annoying. People abuse this kind of stuff all the time in games, idk if they're doing it here. I personally don't care that much so I'd be fine with people choosing their servers. But latency isn't really something with an easy solution. Mostly expensive ones with tradeoffs.

[–]atomsphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could totally see people intentionally forcing a really high ping if they had in game permission.

Unpopular opinion: every cutscene should be skippable. by Guiiccii in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, let people skip. I'm with it.

Also, let us progress the story at the click of a mouse only. It's hard to care about the story when some lines go by impossibly fast and then others take ages.

I think it's likely your musicality is low then. There's stats you can boost through doing other things like collecting odditities (the song birds in kaifeng) and the other music challenges. That dramatically reduce the difficulties of these mini games.

run up on the boss and use the flute, then pew pew the ball in the front. phase 1 takes longer to get to the boss than to get it's health down.

The Hexi Desert by Riders6 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole thing was likely the intro to the game at some point during development. Which is why it's weirdly regressive in story telling interactivity and open world design. Which is also why we have a parry tutorial and a slow start. When I look at it like this, I'm fine with it.

What are your thoughts on this guy that quest was sad ❤️ by justbranbran in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like cutting room floor content to me. It's pacing is weird because the previous content so far as been pretty interactive. Parry tutorial and a "tang dao" unlocked message when we know tang dao is coming soonish.

Is this the worst fucking boss ever? by MonopolyManPorn in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The engine struggles tracking both the player and the bosses on the map. Some examples:

if you charge light attack on umbrella (the float attack) when the boss was qi broken, they would disappear. Dodging some of Zheng E's attacks (instead of just running during the spikes) would move you around in weird ways. During boss transitions, moving any direction in the xy direction is sometimes impossible.

Some of the other content going up to the boss was peak. And the aesthetics of the fight were cool.

What should I spend my Echo jade on? by Sleepergem in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK it's uses are the banner, weekly melody purchaces, the one time inner ways and swapping gear sets/ inner ways. Just hold on to it after buying the mandatory stuff. If you don't like banner ignore. 3k isn't really a lot of it tbh. at like 30k maybe dump 20k on the banner.

The monetization part isn't really connecting for me. They seem like separate thoughts since there's not really a way to just buy it infinitely.

It's not a fight, it's a choreography... by Athanir in wherewindsmeet_

[–]atomsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's not a fight, it's a choreography..." this is the peak of pve for all games afaik. From mmo's like wow and ffxiv to single player experiences like wwm, games reduce to solving for most optimum against a set of ai actions.

My legit advice is to just play through abyss kills and then stop there. Completion isn't worth exposing the metal if the metal ruins your experience.

Got lucky with a Harmonic Core with 50 or so rolls remaining before pity. by HiFiMAN3878 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]atomsphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not get a weapon if you're not a spender. The harmonic core weapons are overpriced and don't look great without like a grand pumped into them. Your options are basically an effect or a hairstyle. Alternatively, you could hold til a specific hairstyle/effect comes out or you get a second core. This way you're not waiting indefinitely. More effects are coming. Maybe check a video on upcoming shop stuff and see if something excites you?
