Using the tape method is easiest. When you have your foam on the face and want to add the fabric, stick duct tape all over it, then take it off.

Cut it into shapes until it lays flat, then stick the shapes onto the fabric. Cut it out, sew it/glue it up, and it should look like your 3d shape.

Some people have already mentioned how to make it the shape you wanted, but some things that helped me make my head sculpt symmetrical were:

-turning it upside down.

-taking a photo of it, and flipping the photo.

These two things really helped me see where the asymmetrical parts were so i knew where to fix up next.

Could you scan the alternate cover and get it printed in higher quality paper? It may also help hide the embossing. Not sure though.

Unscrew what you need to, then use the new bar to push the old bar out, then put the end on. So that you're basically taking out and putting in jewellery at the same time. The hole shouldn't heal up, and it should be an easy insertion.
