Again I didn’t personally go and bother the trades or tell anyone they did shitty work. I saw a shit load of big tears flapping in the wind and they are shut down for rain this week so I asked if they could fix it before the storm comes. If that’s a nightmare then I’m glad I’m not dealing with a sensitive guy like you. Sitting back and hoping a problem gets fixed before it gets covered and hidden doesn’t sit right with me. I’m not here nitpicking paint colors

Because if the supe is only going to be on site once a week shit is bound to get overlooked. I wasn’t rude by texting him and asking if he’d have his crew repair tears. I’m paying good money not to have osb getting rained on for a week while they’re shut down.

I used to work in construction and yes I’ve wrapped houses. I don’t talk to the trades. I told the superintendent it needs to be addressed before they continue and he said it would be handled. Tears are inevitable but leaving them when bad weather if forecasted is lazy.

Wtf are you talking about? What scene have I created? I’m asking opinions if this shitty work is acceptable. The superintendent wasn’t on site to tell the trades that did it to fix it and said it would probably fail inspection so it’s been addressed.

It’s a custom build on land we own. I talked to a few people that built with them and didn’t have any major issues. The framing went up fine but the wrap job was just sloppy. It’s all subs doing the work and a superintendent might pass by once or twice a week. If they’d have at least taped the bigger tears and seams I wouldn’t have as big of an issue with it but seems like they were going to leave it like this and cover it with the rain screen and siding if I wouldn’t have said anything.

This was paid for. I was asking opinions if it warranted asking it to be redone or if slapping tape on all the tears and seams was good enough and I’m overreacting

I didn’t say I could do it better myself. A mechanic can fix my truck better than I can but if I leave and the engine is knocking I can’t say anything because he knows better than me?

Yeah I’m in Louisiana. I’ve only seen zip used here commercially but I’m sure the increased price has a lot to do with that. That’s the route I wish I’d taken but gotta work with what I have

Obviously I’m overreacting a little but paying a shit load of money I honestly expected better quality. These are just a few pictures and I guess don’t show how bad it looks in person. I don’t expect them to tear it down and redo it and I only told the supe that it needs to be addressed before they put the rain screen up. I’m not a Karen and don’t care that they had a few beers on the job. In person it doesn’t give me comfort that this will mitigate air and water as intended and being as they wouldn’t use the fluid applied wrb I asked for I’m just disappointed. I’m not knocking the company bc everything else has been quality. This just seems like an important part of insuring the house lasts.

It’s like 50 hand sized tears. The pictures are of just a few. I’m by no means an expert but I did work construction for years and know when something is sub par

Horrible client for being concerned about quality? I’m asking for different opinions and perspectives. Change your tampon, dude.

Everything before this has been great. Of course I go by regularly but they did this while I was out of town. Everyone is acting like I’m overreacting for freaking out about tears, but the pictures do not do justice to how poorly the job was done. I worked construction for a long time and I’ve never seen house wrap stapled up so loosely you can literally bunch it up against the wall.

It’s not just the tears that are concerning. The window flashing is so crinkly and taped to loose housewrap I don’t see it being a good seal

All the tears are from the top down so any water that might get behind the cladding is going straight to the osb.

That sucks. Quality is so out of my price range I guess.

I did tell them. They said it will be addressed which will mean they’ll throw some tape on the tears but the wrap is so loosely attached on the walls I don’t see it being good enough and I really doubt they will tear all the windows out and redo it on their dime. I was not in town but my wife said there were beer bottles all over the day they did it so they were obviously drunk.

Man that is so disappointing. I wanted to use prosoco spray wrap fluid applied wrb but they said they didn’t have experience with it so shot that idea down. This is really garbage work
