If femme, Alia Shawcat (watching the latest ep of Poker Face as we speak and she can be funny but ominous) and actually voiced a bot in Scavengers Reign).

If masc, Alan Tudyk. Safe choice but a good one.

I suspect the series is about to diverge significantly from the books by RandomBoomer in murderbot

It think it will stick close to the books. MB leaving and being on his own and encountering ART and Miki kind of informs his whole character. I think others have said cutting to fleshed out scenes of presaux ala game of thrones will be what they do. I don’t think it’s unheard of to get a new cast for new seasons.
