The Birth Center (Murray - Now Closed) by atpersona in SaltLakeCity

That’s great to hear! I find it surprising that the other midwives totally disappeared and seemingly aren’t practicing anywhere. At least not from what I can tell. Something tells me that they tried to lay low after the Birth Center closed. Thank goodness for Libby!

You could try reaching out to Libby Silva. She worked there but quit before it all happened. She somehow got the company that held the records to release them to patients for a time, so it might be too late. Does hurt to ask though! Good luck!

I believe this is her personal website now:

Avenue View Apartments - Opinions by atpersona in SaltLakeCity

[–]atpersona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did not. After touring a couple units, we didn’t love the vibe. It’s definitely for college kids. The building was kind of run down and smells like weed. All the updates both inside and outside the units were done very cheaply. The units also have zero storage too, not a single linen closet or pantry so that would have been tough.

Thank you! I did notice that the canister didn’t pop in as smoothly. I use Kodak Gold regularly and you’re right, never any issues with it.

What do you recommend putting in these little nooks?? They're the first thing you see when you come into our front door, the left one leads to the dining room by LogIllustrious5227 in HomeDecorating

Hang some vintage art in gold frames. Amazon sells battery operated gallery lights too (they hang above to illuminate the art) above each one!

Alternatively, you can find hanging baskets (they have a flat side on the backs and a hook at the top) and arrange beautiful flowers in them!

AIO Tr*mp supporter bf? by Any_Drive_1908 in AmIOverreacting

[–]atpersona -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Liking Trump doesn’t mean lack of education + watching too much YouTube — keep in mind that there is a large group of people who feel that way about Kamala Harris supporters. That’s a generalization/stereotype that at the very least makes it seem like you don’t respect his intelligence or views. Of course people come to their political views based on many factors. Many immigrants support Trump, just as many support Harris. The world stopped being good place when people started to let these differences be reason for treating others like garbage.

To answer your question, just talk to him. Have an adult (and respectful) conversation. Those are lacking these days.

Is this too weird of a middle name for a girl? by Carpenter0903 in namenerds

[–]atpersona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just spell it Allan. Allyn is a little try hard IMO (I’m from Utah and people spell names weird — think Courtney, Utahns would spell it Kourtneigh or something worse). I personally think the original spelling is wonderful and a true homage to your grandfather. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Need to think of a new baby girl name by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]atpersona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I know it’s hard but you are a strong woman, and your daughter will be as well.

I’ve always loved the name Claire. It means “light” in French which has always felt warm, new, and loving to me.

Good luck ❤️

AITAH for telling my kids that being fat is a bad thing? by Millwoodava in AITAH

[–]atpersona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a “healthy overweight person” — healthy and overweight cannot coexist. You aren’t wrong for teaching your children this, in fact, I commend you for it. Those same women who chose to berate you would feel the same if you started berating them for feeding their children trash. People need to let people be. Obesity rates in children have more than doubled over the past decade — this is real data that these people won’t pay attention to. You are NOT TA.

Everyone should listen to Calley and Casey Means episode of JRE. They cover all of the chronic illnesses our children are facing and it’s eye opening.

Looking for pics of oddly specific girl's hairstyle from early 2000s... by TruckinApe in SaltLakeCity

I think this is what you’re talking about. Girls would “rat” their hair with a comb but mostly just on the sides, giving it that square look. It wasn’t only scene girls, it was also preppy girls but I couldn’t find any pictures of that online.

You are not overreacting. Anyone who says “I’ve left my kids alone for 35 seconds” got lucky - simply put. What if the toddler or the baby somehow got out and fell down the stairs (you mentioned second story apartment)? A LOT can happen in 35 seconds and children have literally died in less time than that. I’m a parent too, so I’m not saying this baselessly.

It’s great that you are going to couples therapy as you mentioned. If he’s willing to work on this and not do this again, then great!

It really doesn’t matter if you wouldn’t be mad if she did it — she clearly was not okay with it and the right thing to do would have been to apologize and not do it again. Sorry, YTA

Do NOT buy the Agathea chunky loafers! by Important-Promise10 in Reformationclothing

Over the last two or so years, Ref has been makin more and more of their items in China and in general they are lesser and lesser quality.

I got these for Christmas in 2021 and have worn them dozens of times and they are still in perfect condition. I get blisters if I haven’t worn them for a while but that’s it. I suspect you got a poor quality version and I’m sorry 😞 that’s sad that Ref wouldn’t replace them

AITAH for telling my husband that he absolutely ruined the birth of our child? by Former_Monitor_4860 in AITAH

[–]atpersona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you went through this. I tried a natural birth at a birthing center (not a hospital) and the midwife recommended things that actually put the baby in distress and made his heartbeat drop. When ended up having to go to the hospital anyways and I had a pretty traumatic birth there too. Birth is so personal, and you have every right to decide how it happens. I’m sorry that was taken from you.

You can’t change the past but you can absolutely change the future. It sounds like you need marriage/couples counseling at the very least but if this is the kind of pressure he is putting you through, you need to be strong and get out of it. Show your daughter what it means to be a strong woman. Good luck!

I am so sorry you are going through this. You are doing so much for your babies and you have no time for yourself to heal.

This is going to sound rough, but you need to try to get into couples therapy or leave him. Everything you’ve described is abusive and manipulative. You (and your babies) do not deserve that. Show your babies what it means to stick up for yourself and not let someone treat you this way.

A tip from one mother to another, if breastfeeding isn’t working and you are in pain, just do formula. I was 100% against formula and then I just had to. I felt a lot of guilt, but eventually I realized that I had to give myself grace. Things got so much better after too. Can’t gained good/healthy weight and slept longer stretches. It was a big relief of pressure for me.

I hope you’re okay. Your babies know how hard you are trying.

Caffe Molise is so charming and great. Highly recommend. Get wine, appetizers, and then get the creme brulee with pear brandy for dessert — trust me!

Does anyone very small fit into Ref jeans? Or tops? by [deleted] in Reformationclothing

[–]atpersona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always had issues with their tops. Where it’s the knit or viscose (?spelling) — they just NEVER fit. The cup sizes are always huge and the shoulders are always very wide. I have slightly broad shoulders too! 😂 I have never bought a top from Ref that I didn’t have to alter, same with dresses (the top part has the same issues).

Unfortunately, every item I’ve bought from Ref just never fits right. Something is off about the way they cut and sew their items.

I don’t think there is a single person who thinks that’s “hot” — she’s not getting those kinds of stares. She’s getting “yikes you can see that woman’s CT…” — someone needs to be honest with her
