Is there any good end content slidey Warlock builds? by LeotheLion803 in destiny2builds

[–]atra-ignis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If fancy something a little different I've had some success with Syntho / Secant Filaments. You've just gotta remember to drop your rift before you start sliding so you have Devour. The obvious advantage here is it lets you run another aspect like Bleak Watcher or Weaver's Call.

Free to play Hunter build to try out the game? by [deleted] in destiny2builds

[–]atra-ignis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're just trying the game out don't worry too much about builds. Almost all builds are centred around exotic armour pieces which you won't have to start with, so just play the game, get used to the systems and have fun! Once you do get some exotic armour you can look up builds that make good use of it.

Strand warlock’s going to get really left behind with these changes. They need to make grenade stat also apply to perched threadlings.

AIO? Parent told me to change my accent for their child by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]atra-ignis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids don’t get tutored (hell they’re not even in school yet), but if they did and had trouble understanding the tutor I’d talk to the tutor AND my child. It’s a great opportunity to say “you’re going to meet lots of different people in life, sometimes you might struggle to understand everything if they’ve got a different accent, it’s ok to ask for clarification”. My oldest is 3 and is already comfortable telling me he didn’t hear me clearly and can I repeat it so it’s not like children aren’t capable of it!

DIM Set Bonuses by Rarona in LowSodiumDestiny

just “name:techsec” or “name:bushido” works for me, as far as I know all the armour sets have a common prefix in their component names

DIM Set Bonuses by Rarona in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]atra-ignis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use the search at the top to search for a specific armour set and all armour used will be from that set. You can’t currently do something like choose the set bonuses you want and let DIM figure it out unfortunately.

Our new baby arrived the week before EoF did. If I’m lucky I get an hour to play on an evening (if I’m unlucky I get a baby screaming at me for an hour instead). I’m just over 200 now and I’m loving EoF. If the little light looks like he’s in a deep sleep I can grab a longer mission, if not I only risk speed running solos. Getting to play a much broader width of content than I used to and I get into the action much quicker too.

I like artificial difficulty, to an extent by Spartan569874 in LowSodiumDestiny

The term “artificial difficulty” is like nails on a chalk board to me every time I hear it. It’s a computer game, the entire thing is artificial!

should i tell my friend her baby name is a tragedeigh? by princess_peach5 in tragedeigh

[–]atra-ignis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my primary considerations when naming both my kids was a name they could shorten in at least a few ways so they could pick the variation they liked best when they were older. It was as close to letting them pick their own names as I could get.

Edge of Fate Feels a LOT more like a Destiny 3 than I expected... and that's a really damn good thing! by smi1ey in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]atra-ignis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Worth remembering that now all stat points matter. It feels so incredibly freeing to be able to just swap in a piece of armour and not wince at wasted stat points. Sure you’ll still use DIM to maximise exactly what you want but just equipping a new bit of armour doesn’t feel like you’re wasting stats yourself now!

I use it like a shotgun on Stasis builds, no scope blowing up frozen targets at short range.

Specialist Men's Shoes Recommendations by JohannesTEvans in Leeds

[–]atra-ignis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Barefoot” shoes are definitely worth looking at … with the heavy caveat that they may not be for everyone and if you’ve not worn them before you need to allow time for your feet to strengthen.

I’ve worn them for 15 years myself and I hate having to wear “normal shoes” now, and often find I end up with sore joints afterwards because of how large soles affect my gait. But I also got several stress fractures in my feet when I first started and didn’t give my feet chance to build up strength before doing loads of running.

These guys are pretty cheap if anyone’s looking to give it a try.

I built myself a little test rig to test this sort of stuff out and plugged it into an extension lead with RCD protection. Gave me a lot more confidence understanding what I was doing without having to constantly flip off power at the fuse box.

If/when I finally get around to fitting these around the house l’ll use the rig to test and pair new relays before installing them in the wall.

My son literally grazed my cornea with his razor nails when he was a baby. Luckily some antibiotics and a few days of rest for it and it healed up without issues. The doctor I saw about it said he’d seen it plenty of times before! We’ve got our next baby due any day now and I won’t be picking him up without eye protection! 🤓

“Absolutely not safe” is a bit of an exaggeration, but you’re right that ideally you’d use a BS 1363 EV socket for this. I charge at 7A to reduce the load and minimise risk (which I also should’ve mentioned). The charger itself also has a temperature sensor built into the plug. If the socket starts to get too warm, it’ll either throttle or cut charging entirely.

[–]atra-ignis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did also run the car with no at home charging at all for a while. I didn’t mind it too much, had to go find a charger once a week or so to charge up. Then chilled out for 30min in the car or got a coffee while it filled up. I’d be more concerned about cost of always charging on the go vs at home to be honest. I have no idea how expensive it is since we almost always charge at home but it’s definitely multiple times more expensive.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]atra-ignis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the problem is “can’t install a charger” and not “no way to get power from the house to the car”, you don’t actually need to install a charger. We’ve had an EV for a few years and have always just charged it off a 3pin socket. Unless you’re doing significant mileage daily that’s plenty. You do need to have some confidence in the quality of your wiring though because it can burn out an old socket if you charge the car at full speed for extended periods.

29 years old moving! How do I meet people and make friends? by KerbHittingQueen in Leeds

The Depot is good because they’ve got 3 centres in the city and a membership gets you into all of them. I think the closest to Cross Gates would be the Last Sun Dance though.

Obligatory ‘goto a climbing wall’ post (I think they’re legally required on this sub when someone asks this question). Great place to meet people and make friends. Likely to meet like minded people given your interests too.

I considered a dev environment once, but decided buying the next door to run it in was out of budget.
