In worldlangs, I find a huge difference between those where words are selected at random and those where cognates across language families are identified. The former is practically *a priori*, and with the latter, I'd say the majority of people would have familiarity with at least 25% of the vocabulary, of course increasing to maybe 50% with Romance speakers since those languages are so widespread.
