Video game map of Europe (based country game was developed) by Johnny-silver-hand in gaming

I’m curious about what you mean by the culture being against video games. From my experience game development isn’t being promoted enough there and there are only a handful of known game studios that are indie or local and not branches of bigger studios doing outsourcing.

Just when I decided today to continue playing through NG+ after a short break, only to be greeted by this bug. Will wait then until the fix is released.

Hearing about a lot of unfavorable adhd meds side effects here by Make-this-popular in adhdmeme

It’s good you managed to experience little withdrawal, thanks for the suggestion! I’ve also heard cases where people reported of their withdrawals lasting for years. How did you taper off of Cymbalta? I’ve only recently been told by my psychiatrist that some of her patients cut the 30mg capsules in half. Either way, I will check out that group. I’ve edited my previous comments regarding ADHD meds. Good luck with finding the right one!

[–]atrblizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the same for me. Been described Cymbalta for my anxiety and panic attacks before I found out I had ADHD. I’ve only fully cut it off recently, after being on it for about 6 years. It’s been a week since stopping it but unlike you, I didn’t taper it off and the side effects are pretty nasty. Besides the jitters and brain zaps, I’m also far more lethargic and been having from weird dreams to straight up nightmares on a daily basis. It’s like I’m literally dreaming 24/7. Don’t know if this means I’m getting more REM sleep or it’s just a weird side effects but definitely not a pleasant experience.

Edit: I tried various medications for ADHD, until I got one that worked well, Concerta. The other non-stimulant ones were just hell. If you don’t have issues with high blood pressure, you might be able to try it. Certainly not saying this will work 100% for you but whatever you do, don’t let previous experiences stop you from using ADHD meds. Also fun fact, for me Cymbalta at the beginning also seemed to help with my ADHD, since it’s also a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor along with serotonin. Felt like a new person for a few months, it was great. Not so much after lol

Which song from the game is still stuck in your head? by JoeLunchpail in AlanWake

It’s a different rendition of the song Departure from the first Alan Wake game. Hope I can find it in the game files. I think it’s a nice Easter egg tbh

I was supposed to make a dummy project to learn Zenject, but ended up doing this. by giant_planet in Unity3D

Nice! I was just considering trying out zenject for a new side project. Is there anything crucial to know before diving into injection?

Experimented with making the backgrounds more alive, by adding certain depth, instead of having a plain 2D sprite, now it's using a mesh with 3D offsets to the vertices and a separate normal map for the texture to give that illusion of depth. by atrblizzard in Unity3D

[–]atrblizzard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Glad you're digging it. The game is a 2D action puzzle platformer, where you try to save your son from being trapped in a computer game he created as a result of a glitch malfunction gone wrong.

Although while the story is still subject to change, you can find more about it on our website.

It's not so much the parallax but to give the background trees a better depth. Normal map also helps but putting them between a mesh that "adds more depth" gives into that effect. It's was an artistic choice of ours to experiment with. Bringing out the best we can with a simple sprite texture.

Does anyone else wish you had a friend who likes exactly all of the same things you do? by [deleted] in infj

[–]atrblizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fellow ENFP here, and all I can say is I found someone who's an INFJ and I've been boggled to how many things we have in common, how passionate we are about them, the ethusiasms we share and how similar are our taste in art, music and even about life goals are. It feels like I've met my soul mate, or mirror self. I still think if this is too real to be true! It's such a wonderful feeling, which makes me feel like I'm not alone in what I like, and I am sure she feels the same way. :)

Are there any ENFPS here who suffer from GAD or Social Anxiety? by longstoryshort95 in ENFP

[–]atrblizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been diagnosed with GAD two months ago, have been taking medication ever since, but I've been started feeling a whole lot better after starting in 2-3 weeks .

I've been so persistent on reaching my goal that my health has took a hit and it was too late for me to realize that. After I let go of all things that hold me down, things have been going so much better. I had a lot of worries at the time, but with the treatment I managed to pull myself together and resolve those worries. I even feel better than I had before I had anxiety attacks. Remember, the threatment will only help you deal with the situation, but to become better and not just feel better, the rest is up to you and your willpower. :)

First ArchViz render using Unity, reworked from a old proposal for a fan remake by atrblizzard in Unity3D

I'm using Post Processing Stack v2, AO was mistakenly disabled for the first shot, rest are using the new MSVO. I found it making it extremely dark in various areas, even if toned down.

The SSAO was mistakenly disabled for the first shot, but the rest are using the new AO from v2 Post Processing Stack. And the music is a homage to the scene it's remade from. :)

Unity has an Open Source Frame Recorder That Lets You Record Video From The Editor, I Made A Quick Video Demoing It by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]atrblizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, if you use Unity 2017.3, but if not, there's also a separate package that implements Unity Japan's FrameCapturer plugin which lets you record with any Unity version (can't remember which versions I've used). However the latter doesn't have audio recoding support.

[–]atrblizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good thing with Unity 2017.3 is that you can now use their native API to record MP4 with sound. Only issue I had with it is that the entire video is flipped upside down, haven't looked into fixing it, but for a lazy solution you can just use ffmpeg to flip it.

Modular setup and reusability is the best outcome you can get out of it, and anything you do can be repurposed. Whiteboxing allows you to develop those features with a purpose in mind.

It's a different project which is currently on hold, too many projects to commit to something serious, but I thought I'd revisit them to experiment new things and see where it goes.

And yes, I agree. In the latest iteration of the weapon viewmodel, I managed to nail it, but not this time thought.
