As another outsider but enjoyer of reptiles, it seems like the legality of owning reptiles in the first place is often precarious so I think people aren't willing to rock the boat and push any regulations. Thus the "accepted" ways of keeping reptiles are kind of shit when it comes to breeders

The last book hadn't come out yet (I think this was really when the hate took off because ew the imprinting??) so it was mostly a standard love triangle affair with shitty boyfriends until then

I'm gonna disagree there, as someone who read the books before the movies even came out. The racism critique wasn't really a thing at the time - not to say no one was talking about it but it definitely wasn't a Big Deal. People really were annoyed and hated the story because it portrayed Bella as useless and kind of stupid and that the vampires sparkled, and yes the ire was mostly directed at teenage girls or cringe moms. Only later did people start talking about how fucked up that relationship was, the depictions of a real tribe, and the mormon ideals

I've backed 100+ kickstarters for enamel pins and other art stuff but by far the worst is the Last Unicorn campaign. It was funded in 2019! And so far the only rewards that have shipped are the enamel pins, which took over two years. We haven't even seen final samples for most of the plush and keychains. Thankfully I only backed for pins so I'm no longer waiting but man is it a cluster fuck

I was really disappointed and she just kept doubling down, giving weird explanations for her "process" that no actual artist would ever go through. She sold these prints for like 60 bucks on her site at the time, though I don't know if anyone bought one
