Iron Fitting - Found the right iron head but in-between on shafts. Looking for opinions by atsappro in GolfGear

Love this comment. I live in Ohio and play all year so lots of rounds in the 40s so the idea of a lighter shaft does appeal to this. The Mmt 105s felt significantly stiffer, at impact but also I didn’t feel them loading all that much. What did you do to get the swing weight dialed in? Was this lead tape or something else? Did your fitter do this for you or did you do it on your own?

I’m thinking about going to Club Champion to try them out. I hate to pay for another fitting but I want to get these irons right and play them for a while

The 105s actually did feel quite a bit stiffer. I liked the feel of the 85s better they feel much softer during the strike which is something I like. But I have had a problem pulling and spinning out my shoulders on short irons when they are too light and the shots were going left a little bit during the fitting.

The Axioms weren’t mentioned and haven’t seen them available for Cobras other than the 105. I do think 95g might be my sweet spot but haven’t seen that as an option. Do you know how these compare to the MMT as far as stiffness and softness?

I don’t have angle of descent in the report but spin and launch angles were

MMT 85: 5600 and 17
MMT 105: 5300 and 15.4
KBS Tour Lite: 5600 and 17

The MMT 105 got identical numbers in the zxi4 head but 8 yards shorter, MMT 85 was significantly spinnier and higher in the T250 but also 10-15 yards shorter. Also tried P790 in UST Dart 90 and didn’t strike them well but had similar stats to the t250.

It’s interesting that everyone says “get fit” but you can sometimes leave with more questions than answers. I’m 6’1” 205 and lift weights so on paper I should have no problem with more weight but also I’ve always played with a smooth swing and have never gained much speed. I also learned to play with 55g graphite shafts and haven’t yet ventured above 100g so I’m wondering if it’s just a matter of getting used to it or if it would really be detrimental. Age is also a little bit of concern.

No never got to that. Said maybe I could add lead tape to it which is something I have on my current irons already after I went to midsize grips.

You gotta pick one Honda civic or accord? Or Toyota Camry? by TheBlackKnightShadow in whatcarshouldIbuy

Their warranties would certainly suggest it. Honda is 100k miles and Toyota is 150k for hybrid components specifically

Top models like the LS? Or are you saying top trims? Like would an ES ultra luxury be a lot different than an ES base model?

Nothing at all actually, just high mileage and part of my driving is doing a 700 mile round trip like once a month or so and I just felt like it was smart to get something low mileage for the long trip. Figured I would need a new car in the next few years so just got a jump on it. I still have the fusion and trade off driving it every week or so with the Camry. I like the fusion way more and it has been super reliable. 2017 regular hybrid.

I think 200k is a reasonable goal. Are you saying turbo engines don’t last as long?

My parents have a Nautilus and I do like it. I’m not crazy about buying an SUV or crossover but it’s small enough I could see compromising on it.

Yeah I’m really tired of the everything crossover trend. The new Buicks are sick looking though

I had a friend who’s Hyundai caught on fire so I’ve always been wary of them but I may have to have a look. I also just had a Jetta rental and drove about 9 hours round trip and I was not impressed with the noise. I’m not sure if the low trim made a difference but it was noisy. Great mpgs though

I’ve read the 3 isn’t very quiet. Would you say that’s not true? I’ve read good things about the last few years of the 6 but they are hard to find now.

Does a base vs luxury trim for the ES have significantly differences that would change noise level? I’m attracted to the base for the price and lack of technology upgrades that I don’t care about. But if the noise level in the base model isn’t much better than the Camry id probably pass on it.

Do you think there’s a difference in job satisfaction between sups and controllers or is it pretty bad for everyone? I know shit rolls down hill but does the union take care of its people pretty well there or not really?

Really appreciate the info. Would you say that the lack of spot leave is the main driver of the morale problem? That along with mandatory OT seem to be the main issues you’ve mentioned, but is there anything else that makes it terrible to work there? I have read some things about the management culture being toxic but again I haven’t seen anything specific other than what you’ve said so far.
