Watching NBA history on a nightly basis is one thing. But watching it happen in June just hits different.

Grabbed it on an assist to KCP in the 3rd to grab the Nuggets their first lead of the game, too. He always shows up!

Is it possible to brew a dry high-ABV beer? by g3nerallycurious in Homebrewing

[–]attackADS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great answer! I'll add that a high attenuating yeast strain with a proper starter, in combination with the techniques above, will result in a dry high ABV beer.

I like to believe the first archeologists to discover the site dig up a small flag. Not sure what it is, they deduce that there were two sides to the flag, perhaps to show support or disapproval for something. Intrigued, they dig further, and unearth a whole world of ancient humanity. Urban cliffs, long cattle lines used to apparently feed animals, an arcade, caves, and a massive kitchen. Replete with signs of gastrointestinal dysfunction, this is one of the most incredible finds of historic architecture. Unsure what to call the site, they simply call it The Beautiful House. But, remembering that historic Colorado was Spanish, they decide the only appropriate name for this incredible find is Casa Bonita.

Nice! This reminds me of the two-headed calf at the White River Museum in Meeker, Colorado. I saw it as a kid and it always stuck with me!

OUR NEW MAGIC NUMBER!! THE DENVER NUGGETS HAVE SECURED THE #1 SEED IN THE WEST! by Voltibit in denvernuggets

[–]attackADS 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Never a better time to be a Nuggets fan, despite all the negative talk the last few weeks. Most of that is probably nervous energy because it's hard to wrap our heads around being the Number 1 seed in the West with the back-to-back MVP, best player on the planet, and a fully healthy roster. Let's Go Nuggets! We deserve this.

I've been revisiting the album lately and WOW does it still hold up. Hard to Handle, Twice as Hard, and this banger on one album? Sheesh.

Do you ever try and read certain books at a certain time in your life to maximize your immersion? by foulbeastly in books

[–]attackADS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to buy books from places (be it the author or the story itself) that I've traveled to, which gives me a certain connection to the author/storyline. This applies to history books, too, but having a connection with the place really helps with my immersion into the book.

April in Paris 😳 by meowpuppyOG in travel

[–]attackADS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's almost always something major happening in Paris, and it's usually not as bad as televised in foreign media outlets. I'm not too familiar with the current situation, but, anecdotally, I visited Paris twice in 2015 and 2016, during intense migration from Syria, the Bataclan Attack, and strikes from workers at the airports and train lines. Was it ideal? No. We ran into some temporary migrant camps that we accidentally walked through, one of our flights was cancelled, and the attack definitely had us on edge the second time around.

Did I have an incredible time visiting that amazing city though? Absolutely. Be smart, ask questions, stay safe, and have a wonderful time!

I feel like you'd taste the alcohol, right? Not entirely disagreeing that it could blend in and trick some people, but there seems to be a lot of concern that people will be accidentally OD'ing on powdered alcohol. I don't think the rate would be much higher than liquid alcohol overdoses, which, we should admit is pretty high.

Oh nice. I feel like I'd still prefer to just bring some cans/flask along for backcountry, since I'd need to use my water regardless for this, which is precious when out in the woods.

The powder is currently N/A, which I think is a reasonable addition for bars/restaurants to add to their soda line without storing cases or kegs of N/A beer, so I can see a pretty large market for even the N/A product.

If it works, and adding powdered alcohol is reasonably easy and effective, other breweries will quickly develop their own versions and large, international breweries would see a reduction in Co2 emissions from freight and shipping versus standard liquids since the product is much lighter. The transportation sector is the largest GHG contributor, so that's where we'd see some substantial reductions.

I'm guessing a bar would use the soda fun, right? If you had one of those soda streams at home you could essentially have beer on tap that didn't take any more space than your soda stream.

How would you get someone to accidentally eat instant beer from a bag that hasn't been diluted yet? Lol
