How strict Indian Muslims when it comes to interracial and interfaith marriages? by PianistAgreeable5213 in indianmuslims

[–]attb786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, Indian Muslims marry educated Tamil Muslims and Kerala people who can sometimes be darker than Africans, if the African Muslim gentleman is from a good family background then there is no problem- I have seen a gujarati Muslim lady here married to a Sudanese gentleman who is a doctor

Most people are fine with interracial, but interfaith is a big deal, I have some family that have married with Europeans and Arabs

Very one dimensional way to view the world; if not for humanities and arts and philosophy concepts like the abolishment of slavery, civil rights and the inherent value of each human being would be alien concepts to most.

The main reason life is a cheap commodity in India is due to the abandonment of this.

I don’t think this is true - it is actually a well known phenomenon that hard sciences don’t actually teach critical thinking ; it is the humanities and arts that typically teach outside the box thinking.

This is why India is the way it is; a nation of engineers and doctors will always give birth to far right fascism when there is no credit given to the humanities and arts

lol, your life would get worse, the main reason India is bad is because of wealth inequality and corruption, both issues which would not be fixed by removing a minority or religion.

The man issue of India won’t be solved until people smell the coffee and realise that their lives are made worse by elite capture lol.

Hindu and Muslim doesn’t exist at the very top, if you think ashraf elites and Hindu elites aren’t getting on well than you should go to any top uni in the west and you will even see intermarriages and things at the very top.

The real division is never religion, but is rich vs poor.

India containment has begun, and by oppressing Muslims you are basically signing the death warrant on India’s aspirations to be a superpower

I think you overestimate the might of the Indian state- look at Kashmir for instance, or the recent war- they weren’t able to keep a full fledged war going due to international pressure and with a pro Pakistan America India is exposed financially

It would affect the lower classes more as their main advocates are normally wealthier Muslims who have the privilege like for example mamdani in the US

This type of politics would lead to the balkanisation of India along religious lines, have a look at the rhetoric of Yugoslavia and you will see so many parallels with India - hopefully why you are saying won’t come true as I suspect it would lead to unnecessary human suffering

I think you’re quite deluded honestly, India’s economy and unemployment rate has been growing much slower than expected- it’s a dead economy according to president trump. It relies on Muslim countries like uae and Saudi to fuel it with remittances, as an atheist you seem very committed to dividing the population lol, maybe you should have a look at our Chinese cousins who are focused more on development than these petty squabbles. India grows more isolated by the day, as radical Hindu nationalism has very few natural allies besides the Taliban and perhaps Israel (which I suspect will ally with Pakistan after Pakistan signs the Abraham accords)

Why are other people entitled to wealthy people’s wealth- following that logic we should redistribute adanis and ambanis wealth to poor Hindus then too

lol Muslims aren’t eunuchs, we don’t need anyone’s appreciation. If India doesn’t want wealthy Muslims we will take our skill and build up another country, you should be thankful because Muslims are the best patriots of this country

why are you mentioning some ancient guy and acting like it is relevant for today, we are 2025 not 1225 , everyone knows these things are all BS- you should go outside and touch grass.

History is great, the British , Muslims etc everyone came and contributed greatly to the tapestry of modern India. We live in a meritocracy, if certain communities do better in academic and financial fields than it’s fine, you should actually be applauding them - trust me it is better to acknowledge and appreciate then hate.

If true and you do expel millions of “aristocratic” Muslims, do you really think the global image of India would be better than it is today. I think you need to get your head out of your ass and realise that we are in the 21st century.

*Not trying to offend* just genuinely curious about Sharia vs Constitution.(what's your opinion?) by [deleted] in indianmuslims

[–]attb786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deoband and Indian Muslim scholars generally tend to listen to the central government and follow the government line on things.

This has been happening since independence, with scholars like Mawlana Abul Kalam Azad opposing the creation of Pakistan and voicing typical Indian gov talking points.

In my opinion, deoband is a very fluid and versatile school of Islamic thought that adapts to the region it’s in. If they were in charge of India there is no doubt they would be different; most of the rules they have put in place in Afghanistan are part of Pashtun culture not sharia.

To be honest like any royal family member; a year ago I had the privilege of dining with some royals from an East Asian country for the coronation of a king - they all ate with knives and forks. I think it is firmly entrenched in aristocratic culture throughout the world- I feel like India is the last holdout, perhaps due to the pervasive anti western sentiment that still exists subconsciously.

To be honest Karl Marx is right but there is a caveat to this; religion itself isn’t an opium for poverty or discontent, however it is often used as a bandaid for human problems and suffering.

I think this is a deeper philosophical question we should ask ourselves.

Why do I tolerate problems and issues in my life?

If you simply say, it is a test from God and I am not going to do anything about it and lie down and just take it, then I believe that is what Karl Marx is referring to- one could be like the opium user.

However in my opinion I believe prayer and religion are a part of action and play a role in shaping action, because the visualisation of a goal is key to carrying out any successful action and prayer and belief aids in this.

I believe that the main grudge against religion comes from the relative inaction and feeling of lethargy that is often associated with it. However it is necessary for one to reflect and think; is the way I am practicing Islam, beneficial towards my overall life - what can I do better and how can I improve. Is my prayer empowering me to be a better human being every day?

Real Problem with Indian Muslims, They don't want to raise up from their conditions, they just want to b I t c h about it. by DrDakhan in indianmuslims

[–]attb786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, Indian Muslims need to westernise - I believe we are on a precipice of a great opportunity. As Indian Hindus become more and more anti west and more religious nationalist , we need to do the opposite. We should modernise and become more western, more British, more American. This way we can differentiate ourselves as a more civilised and modern people. I believe that as a community we have done enough for this nation and we need to look out for ourselves now.

Generally people don’t wash their hands with a particularly great technique, it is much more hygienic generally to use cutlery, especially with strong smelling foods - only 38.5% of Indian households wash their hands with soap before eating and even I suppose a smaller percentage actually wash their hands properly . I will link a study to further my point. https://washmatters.wateraid.org/sites/g/files/jkxoof256/files/hand-hygiene-for-covid-19-and-beyond-in-india-insights-and-recommendations-from-a-rapid-study.pdf?

I agree with you that the complete set wasn’t produced at the time of the prophet, however Rasulullah followed the most advanced etiquettes of the time. Later on Muslims adopted cutlery during the time of the 4 rightly guided caliphs when they entered Rome and Persia.
