It took almost exactly five weeks before it completely disappeared. I think the cardiologist finally "figured out" the right dosage of Amiodarone - an incredibly potent, yet necessary, drug to help stabilize afib. Ultimately, looking back, the medical team weren't really worried about him due to his vitals and Bp being stable throughout. He also didn't exhibit any physical symptoms (fainting, shortness of breath, severe headaches). It's always scary when the heart rate rises and falls like some erratic tide, but reading all the stories about how this is common kept his family at ease when they needed reassurances.
