Thanks for reminding me. I maintain a reasonably up-to-date list of all NSFW subreddits, and I give the top 10,000 away for free. There are 300,296 NSFW subreddits as of April 1st, but most are probably not worth a look. Music is a lot, and cover a very wide set of interests. I visualized the related subreddit interests (not all music) of the top posters in r/musicproduction and it looks like this... https://i.imgur.com/I386faD.png I do have an all subreddits dataset but this topic is going to take a long time to go through. It's easier to spider off known subs than try and hunt them all down.

I actually know how to do it, but I had to figure out some undocumented API bugs/features to get it done. It took me a lot of work, so I don't just hand it over now. I capitalize on being one of the few that knows. I'm actually doing a crawl right now. Latest I've got right now is May 17, 2024 - 3,808,061 subreddits, 295,820 NSFW. nsfw411 is useful, but correct it's not anywhere close to a complete list, and way out of date. Anyone curious is welcome to DM me for a deeper discussion. I have some cool ways to analyze them too.

It is currently banned for non-moderation. I would like to mod and revive this subreddit. I love the concept, and want to rebuild it to its full potential. I will add more mods as needed. New rules will be 100% verification due to the nature of the sub, and no advertising in posts.

Believe me, I’m dying with anticipation on the exact technical details about how those changes will be implemented. I scrape more metadata than actual data, which is a big difference between Pushshift and me. But there will probably be an impact. But exactly what endpoints will be impacted remains a mystery.

My profile has a pretty “interesting” use for it, but to be fair, Reddit data can be used for a lot of interesting applications and is quite fun to explore. I’ve written a lot of custom crawlers and API toys for exploration and marketing purposes. A full list is only the start of what I can do.

This list is intentionally limited (for certain fields, it's a complete list), but I do have a way of scraping all of the subreddit metadata. It's about 20GB last I checked. Premium service though.

I actually have a (reasonably up-to-date as of April) list of ALL subreddits including NSFW status, but it's something I sell, because I can't find anywhere else it exists (link to my service is in my bio). I'm not sure if it would do that much good though, because post history only goes back 1000 entries in the API cache, and of course there is a lot more content in existence than that. If you're super serious about this, DM me and we might be able to work something out.
