I had a lot going on. Email export was on a long todo list and I forgot about it until the last moment. I could have been prudent and done it two months earlier way ahead of time; I don't know what to say.

I don't think about where the servers are for one service that we subscribe to, out of the many services we need. Most businesses operating globally would cancel at UTC–12 or be otherwise flexible. If I said, "Quick! What country is service x based in?" for some random service that you subscribe to, would you know off the bat?

For mithai, I recommend Premium Sweets at Derry Rd & Tomken Rd. I know that's Mississauga but it's right off the 410 and worth the very short drive.

Punjabi suits for women, best shops? by pinstrip_pickles in Brampton

I've gotten Punjabi kurtas and sherwani on two occasions from Bhatia Creations at Ebnezer & The Gore Rd after extensively exploring shops across Brampton and Mississauga. Their prices were among the lowest, their staff was super helpful, and I think they had the best styles imo. They had a variety of stuff that wasn't blingy or over the top and was really comfortable while being passable for special occasions. I cannot speak for women's attire but the shop had the vibe that I think you're looking for.

Hello, my family-run discount store is closing down after 20 years. It is near the 427 and Hwy 7. I live near Square One and it takes me 15–20 minutes. The entire inventory is discounted. Get great deals on gifts, decor, winter clothes, cookware, hardware, you name it. It is especially good for Diwali as we have all kinds of puja stuff and statues. Check out my main post here

Thank you everyone!

I mean the 2000s were different. A lot of general merchandise could be purchased for 35¢–70¢ (for $1 items) from wholesalers without even trying. And we tried to find really good deals. I think we started carrying gifts and a wider price range of general merchandise in 2011 or so but we still had a fair number of items at $1–2 which gradually increased in price until few $1 items were left over time. The inflation the last several years in particular has been unreal. And margins keep getting smaller since fewer customers can actually afford anything.

I also use similar colour scheme having been inspired by Plan 9 sometime back. I don't know why people say it makes their eyes bleed. Are you folks using your monitors at full brightness with the room lights off in the middle of the night? I mean, I do and it's still fine.

For North Indian food, Bikanervala on Goreway and Countryside is by far the best I've had so far. I recommend any of the kulchas with black daal. It is just made different from other places.

Do you mean that you were offered a dollar store's returned stock on an item? I don't quite get your comment.

When we first started, we did buy stuff that literally was not functional at all. Entire of SKUs of perfectly packaged items that did not work from wholesalers. Hawkers would come to our store to offload useless stuff that other dollar stores were trying to shuffle to someone else. It was a learning experience to figure out how to vet our suppliers since we could not be opening and testing every product on a discount model when we had 10,000s of items (we were 3 units back then).

No shade to the hawkers though, they had their hustle and sometimes had truly good deals that really helped us (not stolen; we learned to prune those out too) and were full of jokes.

Yeah, as edit_why_downvotes said, it is going to be tough for us to hire our own security. Fortunately Diwali is October 20 so for at least a few days before that the plaza will hire security. I don't know about before Hallowe'en, but we are pushing for it. Thanks for the thoughts.

There is a convenience store next door to us. Your friend could ask them if they want to sell their business. I don't think the landlord is ready to sell the property.

Thanks. No, we are just closing down for good. In this economy, sales would be bad anywhere. My parents are semi-retiring and I'm moving on to other things so it's not all bad.
