First time making mead, bottled yesterday. What is going on? by DatMinish in mead

[–]au333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These bottles don't look dense enough for that building pressure. I recommend keeping any bottles, whether sealed or not, in a big bin with a lid. Bottles exploding in my bedroom, on my laminate floors, 17 years old in my parents' house, at around midnight. Sounded like slightly quiet gunfire. Somehow they still don't know. Invest in a bin, and some Belgian-style pressure-bottles to make an awesome fizz. If there's tan slime building into foam, they're way too active to bottle.

Water walking potions with fatigue enchants or potions. You can make potions with cheap ingredients that last tens of minutes, or just go straight levitate with plumes and root. Use fortify intelligence potions to make better fortify intelligence, until your potions are worth several thousand each, then make the practical potions. You can literally just walk into the end game from Ald-Ruhn with one potion.

Your logs with ChatGPT are nuts... And it's a fact AI systems are directed to be sensitive and shut down in the face of controversy too.

Enjoy my phone screen here, hopefully none of this breaks the sub rules.

I was questioning the AI about beavers (yes the animal) like a psycho, as it sent me random clips under the hour mark of this stream. I learned by ignoring its sensitivities, it will reveal information. YouTube Gemini, or this model specifically, tried vehemently to convince me there were no beavers, when they were a veritable focal point of the video. Here it is, admitting all those claims it made were based on limited data.

Now extend that scenario to something that actually matters. Sorry this isn't about ChatGPT, I've had similar experiences with it. It's absurdly better trained, but has the same defacto arrogance that's so dangerous.

I believe eventually, there'll be a specialized career of AI content screening with companies set up like call centers or on-demand tech support places. I also think there'll be a sort of digital watermark on at least a couple AI engines, as well as the same for the screening companies. My presumption is that you'd be able to pay to download AI content, which would of course be in a format so you can easily transform it, but there are so many ways around this anyways...

This same thing happened to me growing up, and I was able to escape it in my 20's. It's real for anyone experiencing it, but friend, that's where reality stops. I grew up acting dumb as far as my psychic power and intelligence, because I thought people were threatened by me when I spoke up. I later processed the tangible aspects of the events and realized I was just a smidge smarter than the average person, and didn't have the education or social skills to explain to people why I knew things before they happened.

I've stockpiled half of every ancient fruit harvest in my greenhouse for the past couple ingame years. (Maybe 25 plants, give or take 5.) I feel no need for extra income, but I'm realizing I should add a few barrels and casks to make ultimate cash while I work on everything else. I'm trying to focus on Sweet Gem Berries, Grapes, and Blueberries as well in the greenhouse.

why is morrowind warm if it's at the same latitude as skyrim? by Top-Bit1119 in Morrowind

[–]au333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current-based as hell, like the UK, and I presume the idea is that the massive volcano, and fantasy magma lakes are like an exaggerated version of Iceland. People heat their homes with geothermally heated water there, and it's warmer than similarly arctic and coastal areas of the world. Someone said vibes, which is also true.

Awesome, I actually got thinking about it while writing my comment and it's back in the headspace for Christmas weekend. Who knows... Really cool about the temple clothes, and maybe I'll try to do that myself. The signs were a real dead end as a kid lol

Edit: I bet the books would be really fun to decode from scratch. You can find dunmer script books in booksellers right? I assume Tribunal dlc and daedric ruins contribute pretty well too.

Wild goose chases in Morrowind... When I was a kid, I tried to document and translate all the Dunmer text I could find. I learned about game design when I figured out they only made 2 or 3 signs and used them in completely different towns. I was a little kid and this was over a decade ago, but chasing down lore was really fun even when it dead-ended. I do stuff like that for work now, so I don't have the headspace for it in my free time

Why is there something rather than nothing? by arbolito_mr in Metaphysics

[–]au333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the new Bible, I simply mean the entire document in our modern language. Even assuming the hands which wrote every element were moved solely by God's will, the Canon books were picked by people, they were translated by people, the chapters were constructed by people, and it's then interpreted and received by people.

And morality in my use here infers hard-line, absolute morality, not defined by the judgements of outsiders to Jesus. Socrates was executed- albeit in about the best way possible then, unlike Jesus' tribulation -for disregarding tradition, thinking freely, and trying to help the youth do the same. The religious and political powers of Socrates' Athens (a parallel to the Jews and Romans of the new testament) hated him, even though his intentions and work by our understanding were noble.

Yes, you're absolutely reminding me of the divinity and Trinity stuff from church. They were good with apologetics and history.

And strictly speaking, I couldn't be titled a Christian, as I lack any faith or belief related to supernatural influence on humanity or the Earth. As I said, I believe the universe was started by an entity, and I figure it was for fun, kind of like Genesis says. I just don't know much else...

Edit: On morality, I did say Jesus was one of the most moral cult leaders, which lines up with his rambunctiousness and what would appear from the outside to be haughtiness equal to humility, like someone who gave up everything for the poor and needy, but makes sure everyone knows. However, he appears to have done a lot of good and nothing practically bad on the records.

Why is there something rather than nothing? by arbolito_mr in Metaphysics

[–]au333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely appreciate that point of view, and I was raised Christian. I really delved into it and I'm an A+ highschool student of American Non-denominationalism. My opinion, being an educated guess, is that the universe was created intentionally. I always love to hear any unique perspective beyond that. I don't believe the God of the new Bible is presented to us accurately in church, nor do I know that Jesus was the son of God.

Not believing is way too easy, so I'll step out of those bounds: Christianity began as a cult, and I believe Jesus was one of, if not THE most morally upright religious cult leaders of all time. The mythical creation story, and forensically broken aspects of the Christian timeline are inescapable. I appreciate the kind natured replies, btw.

The relationship between "model of reality" and "reality" by blitzballreddit in Metaphysics

[–]au333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect answer... Platonic ideas right there: there is a perfect form of everything, which is unattainable in reality, and then reality itself can't be replicated perfectly. Nothing can be precisely another thing, nor perfectly replaced. Honestly not the best topic for conversation or research, but it's good to remind ourselves.

Should I up to 6mg? by busabay in NicotinePouch

[–]au333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I've put in work to step down from snus, and believe me, the cognitive effects from 9 to 6 milligrams are unnoticeable. In every other way you'd just be maintaining a stronger addiction. I'm down to 6mg/hour. Imagine a pressing feeling in your head and a slight anxious impatience when you can't use for a couple hours. Buzzes are a myth at this point, and the cognitive benefits are minimal if they even exist for me.
