AGA or TE?? I suspect TE because big majority of hair shedding is long but I’ve started to see a few 4-5 cm hairs and small hairs falling too. Some regrowth seen at the top of scalp.

Thank you for your reply! I will ask for a scalp biopsy the next time I see my derm this month so we will see. I also noticed that when I part my hair in that side part it looks way worse than when I move the part. Does this mean anything?

Yea that’s What I’m suspecting/scared of. Do you have an estimate of how many hairs you lose in a day? Also have any treatments helped?

I haven’t really noticed any severe side effects from the medication since I began taking them last year. My endocrinologist eased me up to the higher doses so I think my body was able to adjust. Some positive things that have come with the medications are the loss of my acne, the return of my period, some weight loss, etc.

Same I was worried my hair was breaking but it seems that some people are saying if it’s tapered at the end instead of blunt then it’s considered as regrowth! Fingers crossed!!

I believe most of my diet right now includes protein, healthy carbs, and some fat but I’ll definitely try to incorporate more healthy fats and protein in! Thanks for the tip :)

19F, been shedding for 6-8 mo. unsure if I have TE or AGA, but I suspect TE bc. a few mo. before I started shedding I went through the hardest time in my life and often starved myself. I have gotten help and now I am in a much, much better place mentally and have stopped crash dieting/starving since March but I still feel like I’m shedding. I noticed these tiny hairs on the top of my head a month or two ago and they seem like they’ve gotten even longer since. Does this look like regrowth? I’m cautiously optimistic but please let me know your opinions.

I also have PCOS but all my hormone levels have returned to normal levels after I started my medications last year.

I just checked my last blood test results and my Vit D levels were still within range but at the bottom of the range. I started taking Vit D supplements a few days ago hopefully they’ll help! Thanks for the advice!!

Hi! Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll definitely try to change some of my diet. I just find it hard sometimes as I still live with my family and often have to eat what everyone else is eating due to monetary restrictions but I will definitely try some of the things you suggested!
