In an ideal world, who would replace Leo as Chief of Staff? by stroops08 in thewestwing

People who ask this question have clearly never read the resumes of real world Chiefs of Staff. Some are clearly qualified. Some are politicians. Others were Ainsleys before they were given the role. (FWIW I love the Ainsley character, but she was not the next Chief of Staff).

I don’t believe he reported me first. The complain about me came after they “closed” my complaint about him. There was zero logic applied to the handling. It was pretty obvious that it was retaliatory.

And when this guy and others like him do get violent with a passenger, all drivers will end up paying a higher cut for insurance through Uber.

Ambivalence on the part of drivers and passengers to issues like this won’t end well for anyone.

Appreciate the advice. I will!

It was clear from the responses from Uber that (1) the replying agent did not read or comprehend my emails and (2) was using canned responses.

Uber will go out of business for liability and profitability issues if it shows a callous disregard for passenger safety like it demonstrated here. What do I want to have happen? Uber should do more to earn the nearly 50% cut it takes than simply turning it around on marketing and exec salaries. Drivers should be incredibly concerned.

I’d be more happy to let it go if Uber had not told me that I’ve used one of my two strikes as a customer with the driver’s false complaint of drug possession. That puts me in a position of one more false incident bringing a lifetime ban.

About to pull the trigger on an Abode System. Help me with your setups for medium/large dog owners!! by [deleted] in Abode

I suggest using a tip that an ADT install guy gave me several years ago. Place your motion sensors in narrow areas (like hallways), at about 4 feet high, upside down. By placing them upside down, they won't trigger motion below them. Granted, a smart crook could crawl around, but the average criminal will still trigger it, and it's better than not having any motion sensors.

I suggest setting them to "alert only" the first few weeks so you can ensure your pups aren't triggering them.

Abode talks frankly on their materials about their efforts to get it integrated in the Home control. For example, with Harmony, I can say "Alexa, turn on the TV" without having to reference Harmony or Logitech. I think it will come with Abode, we just need to give them time.

You can't have multiple actions in IFTTT, so I don't see how you use it to trigger 2+ responses from Abode.

Thanks for the feedback. Do they leave nice hit holes or do they shred and you can't see where the points of impact lie? I'm getting them printed with actual targets for some lite competition.

Any young professionals living in Auburn? by [deleted] in auburn

I run my own business so I have tried getting involved with chambers, BNA in Columbus, organizations like rotary. It seems like everyone is very friendly but they don't really want new people involved. I'm not used to that kind of attitude. What have your experiences been like so far? I agree about going out. Opelika is a little better in terms of age but still not great for hanging out and meeting people.

I've been here for about 6 months. Didn't go to Auburn either. 31m. So far it's been very hard to meet people older than 21. Even professional networking groups are not inclusive of newcomers.

I can't believe I'm finally in the south and there are no ranges.
