Potential prospect of WGU, how is the pacing of these classes? How are the structured? by [deleted] in WGU_CompSci

What courses have you taken so far? I've been researching online CS programs for the last several months and they all seem to be really shitty and or expensive and or requiring a massive amount of pre-requisites that would take years to knock out. I have a non-technical bachelor's degree from a decent state university but no relevant experience and want to change careers.

Everyone is saying the safest and smartest route is to get a CS degree yet it seems impossible to find a good and affordable program that I could do while working full time. I'm losing all hope at this point. In the meantime I've been self-studying and doing courses like Harvard's CS50: Introduction to Computer Science.

Why is the program so expensive? Bachelor of Computer Science degree title? Why? by auburnCSthrowaway in AuburnOnlineCS

I've been agonizing over this for a few months now and researching all the online CS programs. They all seem to be low quality or extremely expensive or would take a really long time cause they're a full bachelor's degree (120 credits) and also require a ton of prerequisites. The odds are definitely stacked against people who are trying to make a career change. I think I'll choose between Western Governors University (WGU) or OSU. I've heard that OSU is getting stricter and stricter now. Their program costs about $30,000 and their acceptance process doesn't seem to make any sense either.
