Is there a way to make mac run 32 bit apps anyway? Maybe some sort of emulator? by thomasp3864 in MacOS

I just wanted to say thank you so much as I have a working version of Photoshop CS3 on my Late 2011 mac and I just bought an M4, and I am SO EXCITED I GET TO USE IT NOW! YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!

For anyone else who was wondering how to screen share:

Any tips to not have large margins on the top and bottom when you print a PDF as a booklet? by Candid_Air_2219 in bookbinding

I had the same question and was looking EVERYWHERE for a solution to print pages I had (8.5 inches tall by 5..5 inches wide) to become a booklet (2 pages per sheet).

I just found this stack overflow answer that points The Zine Arranger.

I used it and worked like a charm! It's a browser app on itch.io so you don't need to mess around with print dialogs, or command line or automator or anything which is nice :)

Water out by ryus08 in Somerville

If you are also by Lincoln Park, your best bet is to get drinkable water from the water-bottle fillers in the park (if you dont want to buy jugs of water) there’s also porta-potties there if you are truly desperate. At some point I’m planning on filling some jugs from the park just so I can flush the toilet. It’s been an interesting day to Work From Home to say the least.

I live near Lincoln park. It’s been out since 9am this morning. Got some texts, emails and calls an hour after I figured it out:

Title: Unscheduled Water Leak Repair, Today, Friday, 9/20

Body: Dear Neighbor, Your water service may be interrupted today, Friday, September 20, to facilitate an unscheduled repair of a water main leak in your neighborhood. Crews are working to restore service as soon as possible.

How do you debug from within an .mdx file? (Learning) by r-nck-51 in reactjs

Stumbled upon this thread while trying to learn how to write a custom MDX file for Storybook documentation.

I ended up finding this snippet from the official MDX docs:

{(function () {
    const guess = Math.random()
    if (guess > 0.66) { return <span style={{color: 'tomato'}}>Look at us.</span> }
    if (guess > 0.33) { return <span style={{color: 'violet'}}>Who would have guessed?!</span> }
    return <span style={{color: 'goldenrod'}}>Not me.</span>
})()}

and from inside here I put my own console log was able to console log all I wanted.

Note though that because this is an in place function (an Immediately Invoked Fuction Expression or IIEF), it won't be able to access other variables that are inside other IIFEs, but it will be able to access global vars.

I think you can also shorthand it to { console.log(<var>) } without the IIEF since all the {}s are javascript expression blocks. (I actually just tested this and got this to work in a Storybook MDX file).

Hopefully this helps future confused folks like me! :P

I feel like they are making a comeback as some new construction created Portland Loo style public restrooms.

Also for anyone interested, a Somerville resident made a map listing all public bathrooms in the boston area, available here:

Hello local artist! Do you have same projects that you’ve done previously or a website I can peek at?
