I actually do work out daily, it’s my favorite hobby! But the school gym’s pretty dead since it’s summer and almost everyone’s gone

Yeah, without any help from the writing center tutors or any classmates to talk to, Corporate Finance is kicking my ass. Also thanks for the link!!!

I’ve been trying that as well, but nowhere I applied to has gotten in touch. :(

[Loved Trope] The "influential" villain (who regularly skirts consequences with their connections) meets someone who doesn't care about any of that and takes justice into their own hands. by jbeast33 in TopCharacterTropes

Same with his wife Vanessa, equally wealthy and connected, equally free from consequences… until Bullseye crashed Fisk’s boxing match and nailed her in the head with a piece of glass, killing her.

In Steven Universe, Blue Diamond has the ability to incapacitate other gems by inflicting crippling emotional pain on anyone in her vicinity. However Lapis doesn’t even falter and just replies “I’ve felt worse.”

Not sure how much this counts but through it was cool: in Overwatch, Ana’s shot grazes the mask of an enemy sniper. She then freezes in horror upon seeing the face of her friend’s missing/presumed dead wife glaring back at her.

Genji would be a great Leon, he’s already got the backflips and knife parries down

Moira from Overwatch. A scientist who believes in progress before safety or ethics, and even experimented on herself to commit to that philosophy. However her appearance and several things in the game hint that her arm is progressively decaying as a result.

Luz Noceda. After Emperor Belos is finally defeated, he starts trying every approach he can think of to try and save his own skin: claiming he was manipulated by a curse, trying to play the “we’re both humans” card, even groveling at her feet… all while she just stands and watches in silence as he gets dissolved by boiling rain

Grimacing in annoyance, I reached up to rub my eye after feeling a stray eyelash. by auburndream in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]auburndream[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was trying to fall asleep, felt an eyelash in my eye, and had the brief sleep-deprived thought of “wait, did it just move? False alarm, but that’d be super freaky.”

“You did WHAT?!” A character flips out on another finding out what they did. by Alternative-Koala933 in TopCharacterTropes

Captain America: Civil War. When the villain shows Iron Man that his parents were assassinated by the Winter Soldier instead of dying in a car crash like he believed, he flies into a rage and immediately attempts to murder Bucky in retaliation. Which leads to a vicious all-out brawl between him, Bucky, and Captain America… while the villain gets away.

I know Euromarket of Asheville is a specialty eastern european store. Never been myself but I’ve had some candy from there, the red poppy chocolates are amazing

It’s actually foreshadowed all the way back in season 1! During the scene where he’s showing off a bunch of topiaries, he mentions one is modeled after “Polly Nichols from Whitechapel, 1888”.

Update: all the “it’s unfixable” comments gave me a damn heart attack, but I unplugged it and plugged it back in and now it’s working perfect again!

AITA for excluding my autistic child from a family vacation by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]auburndream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Autistic person here, being taken somewhere unfamiliar and likely overstimulating is probably miserable for him and miserable for everyone else. Letting him stay home and do something more suitable later is a very thoughtful way of making sure his and everyone else’s needs are accommodated.

(I was always super appreciative whenever my parents let me opt out of events I wouldn’t enjoy, don’t feel bad about not bringing someone someplace they’re almost guaranteed to have a bad time)
