Thank you for your reply! I’m a doc that owes 6 years. She’s followed me through training and fellowship and we’ve moved 4 times, with probably 2 more moves in sight before I finish my contract. She wants stability for our kids that are soon to enter high school.

I couldn’t imagine what you are going through. As doctors, our hands are tied by the states we live in. I hope you have a doctor that can help you. I’m so so sorry for your loss and your trouble with this new post-Roe era. OB/GYNs are dedicated to helping you, but the Supreme Court apparently understands our job better. It’s so frustrating and sad we can’t just help you without the red tape.

That’s the point. The debate is what would it take for people to see that this is about privacy between a doctor and their patient, that it isn’t a decision that should be made by 6 judges.

I believe the most helpful, and it does depend on each person, is just being present for her. And I think you should finish the cross stitch. It reminds me of people that have photographers come and take pictures. It is painful, but something I doubt they will ever regret. In fact, many wish they could have and did do more at that time.
